Payroll Customer Services at Beaudry Building

Dear LAUSD Employees

Please be informed that we no longer have the Payroll Customer Services walk-in counter on the

first floor The remaining staff (after the budget cut) assigned on the first floor were relocated on

the 27th floor effective August 21st

To address the reduced resources due to the 30 budget cut Payroll Administration reorganized

the branch and consolidated the operational units This is to ensure that we focus on the payroll

ldquocorerdquo functions that employees are paid accurately and timely

Employees coming into the Beaudry building who may have payroll needsappointment are

directed to check-in and get the appropriate visitor badge on the first floor before proceeding to the

27th floor customer service counter

We encourage employees to send us an email for payroll related inquiry at

payrollsupportlausdnet Our main Payroll Customer Services contact number remains the same

Time Reporting

Bulletin 66380 Time Reporting and Time Approval Policy is in effect There is a

hard deadline of 600 pm to ensure that employees are paid on time The

following guidelines must be followed in order to ensure compliance

Accurately time report all employees by the cut-off deadline for each payroll

area Classified (CL) Certificated (CE) and Semi-Monthly (SM)

Time report all employees on a weekly basis Time entries must be entered

every Friday by 600 PM

Time report all employees by 600 PM on the cut-off deadline for each payroll

area

Have a designated back-up time reporter that is available to fulfill the duties of

the time reporter at all times

Rungenerate the report option Time in CATS Not Yet Approved in Time

Reconciliation (ZTIMERECON_SCHOOL) immediately after approval to confirm

that all time entries have been approved

California Paid Parental Leave (BUL 68610)

The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA)

provide eligible employees with protected paid time off for the birth adoption or foster

care placement of a child of the employee

Eligible classified and certificated employees are permitted to use illness time for

parental leave

If and when the employee exhausts all available illness time the District will continue to

provide the employee with 50 percent of his or her regular salary for the remaining

portion of the 12-workweek period of parental leave

Automatic Payroll Deposit (APD) commonly known as ldquodirect depositrdquo is an

electronic payment system wherein the District provides information resulting

to the transfer of the net amount of the employeersquos salary to the employeersquos

bank savings pre-paid card andor loan or credit union account on payday

Benefits of Automatic Payroll Deposits

bull Expedites delivery of salary

bull Eliminates risk of loss or theft of salary warrant

bull Avoids the inconvenience and responsibility of handling salary warrants

bull Cuts down on bank visits in order to make a deposit

bull Assures bank deposit and access to funds even if you are unavailable on

bull Helps the District reduce expenses and become a more environmentally-

1994 Vested Vacation Bank

Effective 1012017 employees with 1994 vested vacation bank will have the

option to utilize their vacation bank before using their current accrued vacation

hours

Employees will be able to utilize up to twenty (20) days of their vested

vacation in a fiscal year

Vested vacation used will be paid at the employees current pay rate

The revised Professional Development (PD) and Miscellaneous (MS) Reference Guide

provides information to administrators time-reporting personnel and affected employees

on the appropriate usage and time reporting instructions for absences related to

professional development miscellaneous miscellaneous natural disaster and

miscellaneous annual physical Time away from the work location needs to be reported

accurately by using the appropriate attendance codes

Professional Development (PD)

Professional Development is defined as attendance in training opportunities and

educational sessions that will improve and build the capacity of employees It is scheduled

work time during assigned hours that leads directly to the professional growth of the

employee

Miscellaneous (MS)

Miscellaneous time is defined as attendance in meetings that are indirectly related to or are

an extension of the classified or certificated employeesrsquo regular tasks Report

Miscellaneous time for performed activities other than their regular assigned duties

Miscellaneous Natural Disaster is defined as an absence due to natural disaster that cause

Miscellaneous Annual Physical (MSAP)

Miscellaneous Annual Physical is defined as an absence granted to a regular classified

employee for taking a comprehensive annual physical check-up Miscellaneous Annual

Physical time can be used in increments and is granted for not more than one full day per

school year

Bulletin 66380 Time Reporting and Time Approval Policy is in effect There is a

hard deadline of 600 pm to ensure that employees are paid on time The

following guidelines must be followed in order to ensure compliance

Accurately time report all employees by the cut-off deadline for each payroll

area Classified (CL) Certificated (CE) and Semi-Monthly (SM)

Time report all employees on a weekly basis Time entries must be entered

every Friday by 600 PM
