PRESENTATION TOPICS: • What are Mammoths and Mastodons? • Identifying Mammoth Skeletons and Other Ice Age Specimens • The Teeth and Tusks Can Tell a Story • Habitat and Biological Evolution of the Proboscidean Family • Evaluating 17,000-Year-Old Soil Samples • The History of the Wenas Creek Mammoth Project • The Geological Mysteries of Wenas Mammoth Mountain • Evolution of the Wenas Bison Antiquus • Fossils and the Wenas Creek Mammoth Project • Volcanoes of Central Washington State Additional topics are being developed. FOR EDUCATORS: Presentations include lesson plans that will enhance STEM, CTE, and the Next Generation Science Common Core Standards for each grade level. If you include information on the focus of your Next Generation Science Common Core Standards and subject(s), we will arrange the presentation to support your curriculum goals and age of students. Please also speak with other instructors at your school—it would be helpful to share this opportunity with as many students as possible during a single visit. We are, however, more than happy to come for a single classroom or grade-level visit.
