Graduate Scholar Award gives twelve $10,000 scholarships used for post- baccalaureate or professional study at accredited institutions of higher learning (does not have to be in the U.S. or have a Golden Key chapter). Judging criteria include academic merit, campus, community, work commitments, and significant involvement in local Golden Key chapter. Recipients must plan to enroll in graduate school in the fall of year received. Member does not have to be a U.S. citizen, can apply up to five years after graduation and applicants may continue to re-apply as long as they are eligible.

 The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program.

Established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater, who servedhis country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in

the U.S. Senate. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarshipsto college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields. Each scholarshipcovers eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board, up to amaximum of $7,500 annually.

James Madison Scholarship

Junior Fellowships are awarded to students who are about to complete, or haverecently completed, their undergraduate course of study and plan to begin graduatework on a full-time basis. Junior Fellows have two years to complete their degree.

The Fellowships are intended exclusively for graduate study leading to a mastersdegree. James Madison Fellows can attend any accredited institution of highereducation in the United States. Each individual entering the James MadisonFellowship Program will be expected to pursue and complete a masters degree inone of the following (listed in order of preference):

-Master of Arts degree (MA)-Master of Arts in Teaching degree (MAT),-Master of Education degree (MEd)-Master of Arts or Master of Science in Education

The maximum amount of each award is $24,000, prorated over the period of study.

Marshall

Marshall Scholarships finance approximately 40 young Americans of high ability tostudy for a degree in the United Kingdom each year. The Scholarships are tenable at any British university and cover two years of study in any discipline, at eitherundergraduate or graduate level, leading to the award of a British University degree.

Rangel

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program is a U.S. Department of State-funded program that seeks to attract and prepare young people for careers inInternational Affairs. The Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program provides benefits of up to $90,000 over two years toward a two-year master's degree, arrangesinternships on Capitol Hill and U.S. embassies, and provides professional

development and support activities for those who want to become Foreign ServicesOfficers in the U.S. Department of State. Fellows may use the fellowship to attendany good two-year master's program in a U.S. institution to study an area of relevance to the Foreign Service, including international relations, public policy,public administration, languages, or business administration. At the end of the two-

year fellowship, Fellows enter the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State.Applicants must be college seniors or graduates looking to start graduate school inthe fall of the year they apply, have GPAs of at least 3.2 and be a U.S. citizens.

Rhodes

The Rhodes Scholarships, the oldest international fellowships, were initiated afterthe death of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, and bring outstanding students from manycountries around the world to the University of Oxford. The first American Scholars

were elected in 1904.Rhodes Scholars are elected for two years of study at the University of Oxford, withthe possibility of renewal for a third year. All educational costs, such asmatriculation, tuition, laboratory and certain other fees, are paid on the Scholar'sbehalf by the Rhodes Trustees. Each Scholar receives in addition a maintenanceallowance adequate to meet necessary expenses for term-time and vacations. TheRhodes Trustees cover the necessary costs of travel to and from Oxford, and uponapplication, may approve additional grants.

The Rotary Centers for International Studies In Peace and Conflict Resolution

Over the past ten years, The Rotary Foundation has provided over 700 future peaceleaders with peace and conflict resolution education and field experience at RotaryPeace Centers around the world. Each year up to 100 fellows are selected in aglobally competitive process based on personal, academic, and professionalachievements. Fellows earn a master’s-level degree or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict studies at one of six Rotary Peace Centers at leadinguniversities in Australia, England, Japan, the United States, Sweden and Thailand.Our alumni work all over the world with organizations ranging from grassrootspeace initiatives in Africa to the United Nations. The Rotary Foundation provides

fellows with funding to cover the required tuition and fees, room and board, travelto and from the study city, books and supplies, and an applied field experience.

Truman

The Truman Scholarship is a $30,000 merit-based grant awarded to undergraduatestudents, who wish financial support to attend graduate or professional school inpreparation for careers in government, the non-profit sector or elsewhere in publicservice in public service at a leadership level.

The Foundation seeks candidates who have extensive records of public andcommunity service, are committed to careers in government or elsewhere in publicservice, and have outstanding leadership potential and communication skills.Financial need is not a consideration.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Undergraduate Scholarships and

Graduate Fellowships

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) realizes that the country's strongscience and technology community provides a critical advantage in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist measures and other DHS objectives. TheDHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program is intended for students interested inpursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to theDHS mission. This education program is intended to ensure a diverse and highlytalented science and technology community to achieve the DHS mission andobjectives. Areas of study that are eligible include: physical, mathematical, computerand information, life, and social sciences, psychology, selected humanities, andengineering. Funding is available on both the undergraduate and graduate level.

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management 

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is an alliance of fourteenschools of business in partnership with corporate America, working to facilitate theentry of minorities into managerial positions in business. The Consortium recruitscollege-trained African American, Hispanic American, and Native American UnitedStates citizens and invites them to compete for merit-based fellowships for graduatestudy leading to a Master's Degree in Business.
