The Levine Scholars Program is UNC Charlotte’s most prestigious merit scholarship program that was established in 2009 by benefactors Sandra and Leon Levine. BBB Student of Integrity Scholarships

Our scholarship program is funded by our Educational Foundation and each year we give six $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors 2016 Student of Integrity Scholarship: Topic & Instructions1. Students must write an essay, not to exceed 500 words, based on the following topic:  Describe why you consider yourself passionate about building character and following ethical standards in your academic and personal life.Students may write the essay in any form they wish. Judging will be based on how well students captured the essence of the topic and their creativity in responding.

Students must also submit the following:2. A copy of the student’s transcript.

3. A one page letter that explains the student’s leadership skills and community activities or service. ***Please note, this should not be a resume or a letter of recommendation. Forsyth-Cumming Optimist Club Scholarship

Scholarship:

This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship.

Purpose:

To provide educational opportunities for worthy qualified students who might otherwise be denied the opportunity for a higher education.

Requirements:1. Open to all students who have been a

Forsyth County resident for the past two (2) years,Member of the current graduating class intending to graduate from a Forsyth County High School, or equivalent,

2. Attend an accredited college or university,

3. Demonstrate that a financial need exists. Applicant must provide a copy of completed Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) or parent’s 2014-2015 Federal Income Tax return. **

4. Scholastic ability – demonstrated by (a) grade point average and (b) scores from SAT, ACT or other recognized college testing program.

A student of the current graduation class who desires to be considered for this scholarship award should apply to the Counselor’s office of the school he or she is attending. Students may submit samples and compete to become one CCJ’s Media Innovation Scholars. These scholars will receive four-year scholarships to Mercer, up to full-tuition.

Metro Atlanta Relocation Council Scholarship

(Local Scholarship!)

A one-time award of $1,500 will be presented to an Atlanta area high school senior this year

The award will be sent directly to the college that the student will be attending to assist with tuition, etc. The MARC organization will select the scholarship winner based on the strength of their total application. The student will be evaluated based on the following: 1.) Academic performance (as validated by transcripts from the counselor’s office), 2.) Extra-curricular activities (to be provided us along with the application and essay), and 3.) The student’s essay addressing the challenges associated with relocating to a new area and a new high school (please see greater details regarding the essay requirements below).

Requirements Applicants must meet these requirements:

Currently a senior in good standing in an Atlanta area high school.

Has relocated more than 50 miles and changed schools due to their family's relocation between grades 9 and 12

The $5000.00 non-renewable scholarship is awarded to one student each year. That student must be graduating from a high school in either Forsyth or Dawson County and be planning to attend an accredited U.S. college or university the following fall. The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best exemplifies Joe’s approach to life. The ideal candidate will excel academically; participate in activities that support his or her community, pursue extracurricular interests (with an emphasis on golf) and have demonstrated leadership and solid, faith-based moral character.

The Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association awards scholarships annually in the amount of $1500, $1000, and $750 to high school seniors through an essay writing contest.

The Cumming Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America Scholarship

The Cumming Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will award two (2)$1,500 scholarships to deserving, college-bound Forsyth County Public and Private High School seniors.

To be eligible, candidates must be US citizens and the children, grandchildren or great grandchildren of US Military veterans.

Each candidate must complete the application form and a guidance counselor or principal must sign and attest to the student’s grade point average, class rank and SAT scores.

The Chapter Scholarship Committee will base its selection on the following criteria:

Sawnee Women’s Club Scholarship

The Sawnee Woman’s Club is pleased to once again offer Forsyth County graduating seniors an opportunity to apply for a merit based college scholarship. Two scholarships will be awarded (1st place - $2,000 and 2nd place - $1,000) to students selected from among all Forsyth County High Schools.
