For accuracy on your 2019 year end Charitable Giving Report, please be sure all offerings for calendar year 2019 are dated on or before Decem-ber 31, 2019. Although the office will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s, all tithes postmarked by December 31, 2019, will be included on your 2019 giving statement. Thank you.
The Songs of Christmas
Sunday, December 22nd, Morning Worship, 10:45 a.m. The Song of Simeon
The advent candle and theme this week is Love. The angels proclaimed to the shepherds “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace and goodwill to all men”. The pastor’s message will
be “Simeon’s Song”. Special music will abound!
Tuesday, December 24th, 5:00 p.m., Christmas Eve
A wonderful celebration of the birth of Jesus with beautiful music,
scripture and fellowship with the family of God.
Please note that the following policy will be the one Smithwood will ad-here to in the event of winter weather:
Weekdays: In the event of snow or ice at night or early morning, the office will be open as soon as possible, if possible. Please call the church before going there or check the website.
Wednesday PM: We will follow the Knox County schools schedule. If schools are closed, there will be no activities or Bible study that evening.
Sundays: Check our website at smithwood.org. You may also call the church; a message will indicate whether we will be open. If you call and receive the generic message, Sunday school and worship will take place as scheduled.
A Smithwood church member who has been away from the church would like to begin worshipping at Smithwood again. She has no trans-portation and lives in Cedar Hill Apts., on Gleason Drive behind West Town Mall. If any of our members attending on Sundays from that area of Knoxville would be interested in giving her a ride on Sundays, please contact the office. Thank you.
The church office will be closed on Tues-
day, December 24th through the first of
the year. We will resume regular office
hours on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
We would like to thank you for opening the doors of Smithwood for our choir performance. We look forward to this every year. We hope each of you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! In Christ’s Love,
The CEEC (Christian Educational Enrichment Co-op) Choir
Our children have made some delicious cookies that will be available after the ser-vice this Sunday morning, December 22nd. Donations for cookies are appreciated and proceeds will go to the Lottie Moon Christ-mas offering. This is the children’s way of participating in this offering.
