    Create a new Hyper-V Virtual Machine

    Editors Note: I added this because the linked documentation had no inline pictures and seemed tobe a necessary step for those perhaps unfamiliar with this.

    Note: This assumes you have a test lab setup with Hyper-V and are slightly familiar with it.

    I am using Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 SP1 so my screenshots may vary from yours.1. On your HyperV host, startup Hyper-V Manager.

    2. right click on a Host and choose New > Virtual Machine

    3. Click on Next > at the Before You Begin Screen

    4. Specify a name for your VM and Define where youll be storing it

    5. Give it 1024MB of memory (1GB)

    6. Connect it to a previously created Internal Network

    7. Set the storage size to 40GB

    8. Select Install an operating system from a network-based installation server (this changes the

    NIC to Legacy, which supports PXE booting.)

    9. Review your settings and Finish

    10.Once created, right click on the new VM > Settings

    11. In settings, specify a static MAC address so you can later import it into SCCM for testing.
