Installing your EcoScan Scanner
Note: Drivers can also be downloaded from our website at inuvio.com/service/downloads
1. Insert the provided installation disc into your disc drive.
2. Select “Run CDLauncher.exe”.
3. Select your scanner model.

4. Click “Next”.
5. Accept the License Agreement terms and click “Next”.

6. Keep the destination folder as default, click “Next” and the click “Finish” to complete
the driver installation.
7. After the installation program finishes, connect your scanner.

8. You are now ready to install ScanSharp 8.

Installing ScanSharp 8
1. Locate the ScanSharp download link from the email you received from Inuvio.
2. Click to download either the 32-bit or 64-bit version.
Note: Download the 32-bit if you have a 32-bit version of Windows installed. Dowload the 64-bit
version if you have a 64-bit version of Windows installed.
3. Click “Save” and a zip file will be saved in your Downloads folder by default.

4. Right click on the ScanSharp folder and select “Extract All…” to unzip the file.
5. Click “Extract”.

6. A new window will appear with the unzipped ScanSharp 8 software. Double click on
“ScanSharp8-Setup-x64.exe” to start the installation.
7. Click “Install”.

8. Click “Next”.
9. Select “Complete” and click “Next”.

10. Click “Install” and then click “Finish” to complete the installation.
11. Go to your desktop and double click on “ScanSharp 8” to start the program.
12. The License Validation box will open. Copy and paste the entire License Key/Product
Code from the email into the License Validation box to activate the license.
13. And then click “Ok”.

14. Your ScanSharp 8 software should now be activated and automatically minimized
into the system tray.

Selecting and Calibrating your Scanner
1. Select your scanner by opening ScanSharp 8.
2. A notification box will open advising you that the scanner has been selected.
3. Select “Calibrate”.

4. Insert the provided black/white calibration paper into the scanner and click
“Calibrate”.
5. Click “OK” if the process was successful.
Note: If the calibration fails, please
try again or refer to the
troubleshooting section in page 20
6. You are now ready to scan with athenaNet.

Configuring ScanSharp 8 for athenaNet
ALERT: Before scanning cards in athenaNet, please make sure that the athenaNet
Device manager plugin has been installed.
Notes:
- By default, ScanSharp 8 saves images to C:\Card\Card-AB.jpg
- Windows8 will NOT allow anything be saves to the C:\ root location by default
- If you need to save images in the root of C:\ in Win7/8/10, please see the
troubleshooting guide on page 20
- Any changes to where images are saved can be set in the Save Options (see
below)

Scanning cards in athenaNet
1. In athenaNet, search for a patient and click on “quickview”.
2. Select “Add card image” from the Insurance and/or Driver’s License portion of the
profile.

4. Insert the insurance or driver’s license card, face down horizontally as shown below.
The software will detect the card and scan automatically.
5. After scanning, a preview of the front and back of the card will briefly appear on the
bottom corner of your computer screen.

6. In athenaNet, click “Show Preview” to upload the image
7. Click “Save” to save the image

8. You can view the image again by going back to “Registration Information” and
clicking “Update/Delete card image.”
9. From here you have the option to either delete, update the image or cancel out of the
page.
10. Congratulations. The scanning process is complete.

Troubleshooting
A firewall could be blocking ScanSharp 8 from
activating the license. Check your firewall or
contact your IT admin and have them unblock the
site license.inuvio.com. Once that is done, restart
the ScanSharp 8 program and try again.
Easiest method is to give the software admin
privileges.
1. Close out of Scansharp 8.
2. Right-click the Scansharp 8 desktop icon and click ‘properties.’
3. Go to the ‘Compatibility ’ tab and click ‘change settings for all users.’
4. Select and check the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ check box.
5. Click ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’ to save the settings.
6. Restart ScanSharp 8 and adjust your settings.
First uninstall ScanSharp 8 from the original
computer and install it onto the new workstation.
Call Inuvio Support at 800-291-1471 x2 or email
[email protected] and ask that the
product/license key be reset in order to transfer it
to another computer. Please be sure to provide the
license key or the Order ID.
ScanSharp 8 won’t activate my
license. It displays an error
message saying that it can’t
communicate to the license
server?
ScanSharp 8 displaying an “invalid
save location” message when I try
to save an image in the C:\ root.
How can I make it do this?
I want to move my ScanSharp 8
software and the scanner to
another workstation, what is the
proper procedure?

Right-click on the ScanSharp 8 icon from the system
tray and click ‘About ScanSharp 8’ to reveal the
product key.
