Objectives for Africa RISING and NAFAKAAfrica RISING Identify and evaluate demand-driven

innovation options for SI that: contribute to rural poverty

reduction improve nutrition and equity Improve ecosystem stability

Facilitate (development) partner-led dissemination of integrated innovations within and beyond Africa RISING research action sites

NAFAKA Improve the competitiveness and

productivity of the rice and maize value chains (incl. climate adaptation focus)

Facilitate improved domestic and regional trade in rice and maize

Expand the depth and breadth of benefits from the growth of the rice and maize subsectors

Focus on changing behaviors: women, youth, and nutrition

5.Enhancing capacities of local communities.
