Hardware Setup The entire performance test was run on one Sun Fire 15K server.

Thus, the actual SAP Exchange Infrastructure, the SAP EBP-SAP SUSsystem acting as message consumer, and the file adapter used asbenchmark driver were co-located on the same server.

Performance Benchmark Tests - Findings

Conclusions The results of the performance test prove SAP XI 2.0 and the Sun Fire 15K

server are capable of mapping and routing large throughputs of

messages, resulting in the huge number of over 66 million mapped and

routed line items per hour.

The combination of SAP XI 2.0 software and the Sun Fire 15K hardware

showed near linear scalability from 1 up to 63 CPUs used for the SAP

Exchange Infrastructure processing.

A recent volume test evaluated the abilities of SAP for Retail

solutions to process high volumes of point-of-sale (POS) data at

low cost.

The SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure component proved

to be a standards-compliant, cost-effective POS converter, whilethe SAP POS Data Management application handled large volumes

of data for uploading into back-end systems.

The end result is that SAP for Retail can manage your POS data inthe most efficient, cost-effective manner possible.
