Larger than largeThe car of the Schindler 5300 is spacious. We spe-cifically designed the elevator to minimize the spacerequired for the technical equipment. With tractionbelts, our latest development, standardized shafts are able to hold cars that are up to 47 cm wider andaccommodate up to fi ve passengers more than inconventional shafts. DriveThe Schindler 5300 requires a small drive. It saves much more space compared to previous drives; it can be installed directly in the headroom and does not require a machine room, which results in anexceptionally low headroom height. The drive stops the car with precision. Car and landing floor line upvery accurately to ensure that passengers get inand out safely. The drive is economical in energy consumption and causes minimum noise due tothe material of the traction belts – in the car and inthe entire building. Real comfort.

Traction beltsTraction belts consist of thin metal cables sheathedwith rubber or polyurethane. They replace conven-tional steel cables, weigh less, require less space,and run quieter. Thanks to the traction belts, thereis room for the drive directly in the elevator shaft and providing room for a larger car.

ControlIn the Schindler 5300, the access to service thecompact control unit is built directly into the stan-dard doorframes at the top stop. It may be installedone floor lower upon request. This highly functionalsolution is a vital achievement. It simplifies elevator installation, provides practical handling and saves space.

DoorsDoors are equipped with a frequency-controlleddrive for fast and reliable operation. Telescopicsliding doors are available opening to the left or to the right.

CarTechnology does not take much space in theSchindler 5300. This is an obvious benefi t, becauseyou get more freedom of movement due to a larger car. A striking advantage.

Saving due to traction belts

Previously: steel cablesSteel cables are relatively inelastic. They need atraction sheave diameter of at least 320 mm with thecable diameters required for elevators. The completeconventional motor including drive gears must belarge enough to match. A system that requires space.

New: traction beltsTraction belts are flexible. They use a much smaller traction pulley diameter than steel cables. 85 mm is enough, requiring a much smaller motor. A designthat saves space.

Stainless steel looks generous and so do the carsof the Wall Street line. We offer two different typesof stainless steel: one is brushed, the other has alinen-like structure. Both represent superior practicality.

The concept runs through the complete line. Theceiling is also made of stainless steel and is slightly re-flective. The black granite floor contributes significantlyto the overall high-quality impression of the car, whichalso includes a full-length mirror and a handrail. A car in the colors of the Concorde line is somethingvery special. Nancy Violet, Calais Blue, Vals Green,Lille Brown and Dover Grey are exciting, cool colorswhose effect is anything but cold. The glitter of thelaminate ensures that the colors appear even moreintense and refined.

The ceiling is made of slightly reflective stainlesssteel. Combined with the full-length mirror, the roomwith the silvery grey granite floor appears larger thanit is. A matching handrail is included. Communication means that actioncauses an effect – as in our elevators.

KeypadsThe car operating panels are available with different keypad. The 10-button keypad has ten numbers,regardless of the number of floors. The conventionalkeypad, on the other hand, only has as many numbersas there are actual floors. The advantage of the10-button keypad is that the floor numbers are alwaysin the same position – exactly like a telephone.In contrast, the conventional arrangement is especiallysuitable for small commercial buildings with fewfloors. The glass panels back-printed in white give theelevators a contemporary, modern look. Keypads areavailable with touch-sensitive numbers or pushbuttons.
