Administer further screening using the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST) tool for those with a positive prescreen. Provide education and brief intervention to individuals with identified need using motivational interviewing techniques. Make appropriate treatment referrals for individuals with more serious alcohol and/or drug problems. Collect and enter data in project database. Complete quarterly narrative reports on program progress. Liaise with program manager and mental health team around program implementation. Additional Job Responsibilities Participate in training as it relates to program. Participate in regular meetings with mental health team in the IDGP. Other duties as identified by program manager. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comfortable working in an HIV care medical setting. Ability to work independently and as part of team. Knowledge of substance use disorders. Excellent assessment skills. Flexibility, multi-tasking. Sensitive to issues of diversity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work or other health-related field. Prefer one year counseling experience. Salary Range Salary is commensurate with skills and experience, but is expected to be from $35,000 - $40,000 per year. Comprehensive benefits include health and dental insurance, paid sick/vacation days, and 401(k) plan.
