SBI PO RACE Syllabus for SBI Probationary Officer
The selection procedure will be based on two stages:
Written test
Group discussion & interview
Phase-I: The written test consists of two kinds of test. Those are objective test and descriptive test. The objective test will be held for 200 marks with 2 hours duration. The objective test consists of 4
sections.
English language - 50 marksGeneral awareness, Marketing and computers - 50 marksData analysis and interpretation - 50 marksReasoning - 50 marks
The Descriptive test will be held for 50 marks with one hour to test the English language. In this
test candidates need to write comprehension, short precis, letter writing and essay for a given
topic.
Phase-II: The group discussion will be held for 20 marks after the interview will be held for
30 marks. The candidates who get pass mark in the written test will be called for group
discussion and interview.
General Awareness: Current Affairs with a special emphasis on Banking industry.
Questions are also been asked from geography, history, science, economics, sports, awards,
constitution, politics, history, culture etc.
Computers: Basic questions in MS Office suite, Windows, internet, operating systems,
computer networks, internet, E-commerce, the basic computer architecture, terminology, EFT
systems, acronyms. Take a look at current affairs on Computer area.
Marketing: Basics of Marketing, different types of marketing, Product, Product life cycle,
Product mix, consumer behaviour, Market segmentation, Marketing mix, Advertisement, Brand
etc.
English Language: Reading comprehension, Fill in the blanks, Finding grammatical
errors, Sentence completion, Rearrangement of Sentences, Cloze Test, Para jumbles ,
Synonyms and Antonyms, word formation etc
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Most of the questions are from graphs like Line
graph, bar diagram, pie chart, mixed graphs and tables. To solve these questions candidate
needs to be perfect of simplifications an arithmetic topics Average, Ratio & Proportion,
Partnership, Percentage, Profit & loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Time &
Distance, Mensuration. Questions will come from Permutation & Combination, Probability .
Reasoning(High level): Can be verbal and non verbal. Verbal includes classification,
analogy, decision making, word formation, series, decoding & coding, blood relation, symbol &
notation, Input & output, Syllogism, Puzzle Test, Statement & Assumptions, Statements &
Conclusion, Statements & Courses of actions, sitting arrangement and problem solving,. Non
Verbal includes Series Completion, Finding any missing figure and Classification.
