WHY? SAY Student Leadership Council and P4P

– We learned it was a statewide epidemic.– We learned that according to the 2009 YRBS 17% of high school

students had abused prescription medications without a doctor’s prescription at least once in their lifetime.

– Reports from SAY Workers and SAY Parents about prescription drug abuse in the SAY communities.

– The students were motivated to be the first youth leadership organization working with Fleishman-Hillard PR firm on behalf of the Ohio Board of Health.

– Students wanted to help raise awareness on the issue of the prescription drug abuse epidemic.
