Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Elene and this is the first issue

of my new magazine ‘Catch the Beat’ (‘Catch Beat’ for short). I have

dedicated this to music lovers who love to listen to music. This

magazine features country, pop, rock and most music from the top

charts. This whole mag is not only for teens but it’s for almost

everyone that is being able to listen to the music and enjoy it… Enjoy

the first issue of ‘Catch Beat’!

Karmin is the American

couple consisting of Amy and

Nick Noonan.

The talented singing duo had

just produced their debut

album. “Hello” this hit the

top charts in countries at

Australia and the UK.

“Brokenhearted” and “I Told

You So” made it to the top

charts making them better

known.

Before even creating their

own songs, they are best known

for their brilliant covers of songs

from Adele’s “Rolling in the deep”

to Chris Brown’s “Look At Me

Now”.

Rapping seem to be their

specialty. Besides their magical

choruses, they fit words

perfectly in the rap to make it

sound good. It is like a jigsaw

piece fitting into its missing

place.

Everybody has different music choices just like people having their own taste in food.

Music seems to be very popular these days. Most people listen to pop, some loves rock

and some might still favor jazz, but what about country music? Well it seems like 1

quarter of music fans love the strums of banjo.

There are many people famous for country music who produce brilliant hits of country

tones. Like for example, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton and music band, Lady Antebellum.

There are also many more country singers in the music industry. All these people are

making magnificent country hits, but why country music fans get lesser is an unknown

reason.

Why listen to pop if country music is better? People are eager to say that pop is cool,

energetic but country music relieves stress! It is the perfect genre of music that

helps people to unwind. In my opinion, it makes me calm down as well as refreshing my

memory.

Country music is magical, for its beat, melody and the soul the artist wants you to

see. Sometimes these songs are like a storybook, the artist telling people the story

of his or her experiences. In the case of love songs, maybe the artist wants to say

something to the person the song is meant for. Or it can also be a diary, telling

people how you felt during a certain flight of time.

I strongly agree that country music can make you relax and chill on a hard day. Even

after work or school when u need time by yourself. So why don’t you head to the CD

shop to find those wonderful hits by those brilliant country artists? It will do you

good.

What does my IPod say about me?

Music is my life, my job and my soul. I just

came out from the factory as good and shiny

as new. Once I was born, they placed me and

the other IPods in these white plastic

packaging that keeps us warm.

I felt lonely in my white packaging so I

decided to break the ice a little bit by talking

to the other IPods. “Hello?” I said and the

other IPod next to me moved. It was the

colour of lime green. “Hello, nice to meet

you.” It said in an friendly, orderly and casual

way.

“Wow,” I said. “You are green.” I commented.

“You are blue” it then said to me. We then

started to talk and it seems almost like we’ve

been friends for a long time. As we talked, a

factory worker picked our white packaging

and placed it in a brown box. It was dark and

silent mocks us one by one. We just continued

chatting after the box was open, when we

finally noticed the presence of the light

outside the box.

Out of the box, we saw that we were taken to

the electronic store. We were placed on

shelves when a human came along and placed

me in a basket with a Cd in a case as well as a

white set of earpiece. He placed the basket

on a table when a loud “ding!’ came out from a

machine that seems to store money.

I had never seen a Cd before or a set of ear

piece before ever since I set foot out of the

factory. It was in a glossy case that seems to

show its golden body and the ‘rainbow layers”

whenever the light shone. They were all

silent, either too shy or too nervous.

When I was finally taken out of the cover

that was when I decided to break this long

peaceful silence. “Hello,” I said “You are…?” I

asked the little ear piece. Who then

introduces itself followed by the Cd. After

these short snappy introductions, we seemed

to be almost as inseparable as best friends.

Once, I even asked the Cd how it felt like the

first time entering the computer through an

entrance. He said it was scary first but (by

judging the way he giggled) he seemed to

enjoy it a lot.

That’s when the man took me and pressed

lightly on my buttons making it tickles and

hurt. But as the man used me more often I

couldn’t feel anything anymore. The earpiece

was used often too. It is placed on the top of

my head and used to make the music played

through it. I also noticed it seem to read my

thoughts too. As weeks passed, I saw the Cd’s

golden body starting to fade. “What’s

happening to you?” I asked the Cd, I was

expecting a reply but it just shrugged. Now,

the only thing that shone was my smooth

glossy screen which had received many

positive comments from the Cd and Earpiece.

But after I fell, a little scratch perked up on

the surface making it suffer like a scar.

The next day, the Cd had disappeared from

nowhere. That’s when I saw it hidden in a

plastic bag, losing its gold and glimmer

completely. We called it but it did not

respond. The little earpiece then suggested

we go take a look, but I shook my head when

I heard loud thumps coming from the stairs.

The man came back and screamed furiously

“That stupid Cd!!!” that’s when we realised it

had died even without a proper farewell.

one at any CD store!

From that day onwards, we never saw the Cd

again. Now there was only me and the ear

piece left. We would mourn peacefully but we

did not laugh as much as we did in the days.

After days of grievance that made the whole

room fall to silence, we were finally actually

being able to talk again. Since it was just the

two of us left, we were the mood not that

chatty as it used to be. The Cd would always

talk the loudest which always kills the silence.

Years passed as quickly as a feather dropping

to the ground. I became even more misused. I

was dropped more frequently and there were

many scratches on my screen just like

snowflakes falling in the snow. I became weak

as well. My buttons became more unusable

and sometimes my screen would just crash

leaving me blank on the screen which seems

to cause frustrations to my owner.

My owner was a very impatient man. He would

throw me across the room when I wouldn’t

function like I normally would. He would make

me slam the wall with a vicious dent on my

head. Today, I got a really serious problem.

Looks like my owner seemed to be really

angry and furious when he came home.

Despite his temper, he couldn’t seem to

control himself! He took me and threw me and

as I dropped to the ground, my screen then

smashed to smithereens. And some of my

parts fell apart. I collapsed with myself in

pieces with the earpiece gasping and looking

shocked.

The next day, I was sent to a bin with 3

arrows one pointing to the other. I realised

things that are sent there are going to be

burned and made new. I bid my final farewell

to the ear piece who can’t help feeling sad

but this is the way of life.

Be careful with your energy reserves: you will need them the

following weeks. You're being judged on your skills, not on your

resolve at the moment. Stay on the road you're on.

Liberate yourself from negative thoughts and stay true to your

intentions. Cooperation gives meaning to your life and makes it more

valuable. Now you have the opportunity to deepen an important

relationship and make plans together with your partner.

involved in a bigger project than you'd usually get involved in.

Concentrate on what you're doing.

If you're planning activities you can take your time because you've

Everything seems to be okay. You have to be very determined to be

able to grab the chances that you're offered. Try to visit your friends

to prepare for some setbacks and think ahead, step by step. When

things are going well, you shouldn't sit back and relax, then your old

problems will rear their ugly head again.

Today is a day for domestic harmony. You should take care that you

don't become too dominant in relationships, especially with your

boy/girlfriend. Why don't you organise something fun? You really

need other people to stabilise your inner life.

Change is the only constant in life, so your life won't remain the

same. When your private life is concerned, you'd better be honest

than be telling little white lies. You need to make an effort to make

the positive cosmic influences work for you.

You should forgive a person that has harmed you once, because he

or she regrets it. Violence won't get you anywhere! It's important

that you meet your daily engagements. If you think moral values

more important than keeping up appearances your projects will be

more successful.

Your body as well as your mind will benefit from thinking positively. If

your determination is balanced with your ability to admit your faults,

you won't have to have regrets. If you're annoyed and you've got the

feeling you have to talk to somebody, do so, don't feel down in the

dumps.

pathway to glory. It is important now to plan carefully and do things
