2015-2016 MARKETING OPTIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS

The 2015-2016 Residential Marketing Campaign includes a variety of new marketing opportunities for participants that will help to promote the goods and services offered through your business. These marketing options offer high quality creative materials, backed by the Washington Gas name.

PRODUCT GUIDEThe Natural Gas Product Guide has been a marketing staple since the program’s inception. Year after year the comprehensive guide has proven invaluable as an information source for consumers and a powerful marketing tool for program participants. Manufacturers, distributors, contractors, retailers, and installation professionals can opt for display ad(s) and listing(s) within the various sections that are applicable to their business.

CO-BRANDED DIRECT MAIL POSTCARD (MANUFACTURERS)A new direct mail advertising option is available for manufacturers participating in the 2015-2016 program. If chosen, a 6” X 9”, 4-color co-branded postcard will be created and mailed to a pre-selected quantity of Washington Gas customers within zip codes chosen by the manufacturer.

EMAILParticipants will have the option of having their logo and contact information featured in a natural gas product email sent by Washington Gas to a pre-selected number of customers. Participants benefit from additional exposure to Washington Gas customers. Product email categories are: furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces and generators.

LISTING ON WEBSITE “CONTRACTOR SEARCH” PAGEChoose to have your company listed on the “Contractor Search” page of the Washington Gas Living website. The page reaches a targeted and engaged audience, ready to take the first step in the conversion process—finding a contractor.

BILL INSERTSWashington Gas will make space available for a limited number of participants to include their logo and contact information on product bill inserts sent to their customer base throughout the year. Bill insert categories include: furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces and generators.

ENERGY OF THE CITY MAGAZINEParticipants can opt to be included in the “Resource Listings.” The magazine is published annually and available in both print and web versions. It is distributed to 25 Metro Stations, 14 Whole Foods Markets, and a variety of consumer and business tradeshows throughout the Washington metropolitan area.

2015-2016 WASHINGTON GAS RESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNADVERTISER PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

Please read the information in the 2015-2016 Washington Gas Residential Campaign media kit carefully

and, if in full agreement, sign & fax a completed Order Form and this Participation Agreement to Luella Miles

at (866) 498-2389 by August 14, 2015.

Failure to comply with the requirements set forth in the Media Kit and this Participation Agreement will result in

removal from the 2015-2016 Washington Gas Residential Campaign.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Participation in the Residential Campaign does not constitute an endorsement by Washington Gas. Use of

terms such as “authorized,” “preferred,” “approved” or use of the Washington Gas logo in advertising is strictly

prohibited.

2. All toll-free numbers that Washington Gas purchases for the Residential Program are the sole property of

Washington Gas. These phone numbers will be used for marketing tracking purposes only.

3. Retailer and contractor participants must have a brick and mortar business with a proven track record in the sales,

installation and service of the products they are advertising.

4. Retailer and contractor participants must have a professional staff; provide for free “in-home” estimates; service

what they sell; maintain the appropriate licenses and insurance; and be responsible for obtaining all applicable

permits/inspections. Participants must also keep all license and insurance information (including subs) on file and

current at Washington Gas.

5. Print advertisements in the Products Guide must have a primary focus on program participants, but may have

a secondary focus on non-participants. Note: Washington Gas will not list any non-participants in their printed

material or website.

6. The focus of advertisements must be Natural Gas Home Products or services. A secondary emphasis may be

placed on certain companion appliances and services (i.e. electric AC, fireplace accessories, etc.).

7. Participants must respond to, and attempt to resolve all customer complaints promptly.

8. Submit Quarterly Sales Reports by designated due dates.

9. By August 14, 2015, submit completed Order Form and this Participation Agreement

10. August 21, 2015, submit all ad materials for the Products Guide and/or website.

NOTE: Washington Gas will not be responsible for advertisement modifications. If your previous ad requires

modifications or updates, a final revised ad will need to be submitted to Washington Gas based on current

Advertising Ad Specs & Web Requirements.

11. Payment must be made in full by October 1, 2015. Payment options will be considered upon request.

Please sign & fax a completed Order Form and this Participation Agreement to Luella Miles at (866) 498-2389 by August 14, 2015.

All advertising materials are due by August 21, 2015.

PRODUCT GUIDE ADVERTISINGWhat to send: All print ads must be submitted as a print-ready PDF file. The PDF must be 4-color (CMYK), have a minimum

resolution of 300 dpi and have all fonts embedded. We do not accept InDesign, Quark, Microsoft Publisher, Powerpoint or

Works files. Company logos for the enhanced listing should be supplied in a four-color, vector-based EPS format.

How to send: PDF files less than 5 megabytes can be emailed to [email protected]. Files should be “zipped” or
