“And in the same region there were shepherds out in the

field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an an-

gel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the

Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring

you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior,

who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you

will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in

a manager.” And suddenly there was with the angel a

multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among

those with whom he is pleased.” Luke 2: 8-14

As we begin the new church year, the Advent season, and

the celebration of the birth of our Savior, I am reminded

of a simpler time in my life when I was a child and the ex-

citement of Christmas kept me awake at night for days

before the big day. One of my favorite Christmas specials

all the commercialism and chaos. My favorite part is

when Linus reads part of the passage from Luke and that,

Charlie Brown, is the true reason for the season!

As Christians, we rejoice and celebrate the birth of our

Savior with songs like Silent Night and Joy to the World as

we praise and thank our God for the greatest Christmas

gift of ALL!

My wish for each of you is to set aside quality time with your family and friends celebrating and sharing love with

Winter Weather Information:

When it comes to the cancellation of school, we will attempt to make that decision as early as possi-

ble for everyone's safety and convenience. In making that decision we will always err on the side of

safety for our families. Since the weather can vary greatly across the Saxony attendance area, if we

have school but you feel it is unsafe for your student to come to school because of weather related

road conditions, please keep them at home. Just call the office to let us know and the absence will

not be counted against your student. The safety of all of our students and families is a top priority

for Saxony. If we cancel school it will be announced through the various media outlets in our area.

I would recommend that you get the Saxony School Way app and /or sign up for notifications from

KFVS12 or the Southeast Missourian. We will send information through Plus Portals as

well. Weather conditions could also be such that we would have a delayed start. If we have a de-

layed start it will be a two hour delay and school will begin at 9:55 with homeroom. There also

could be occasions where we would dismiss early. If that occurs, we will make every effort to make

that decision in a timely manner that allows for the safe transportation home for everyone.

From the desk of Ms. Fuchs:

Test Results Shared

Sophomores will receive scores from the PreACT (taken in October) in Geography classes on

Wednesday. Students will receive a score report and their own test booklet. These two items

together are a great way for students to practice for the ACT, as the score report includes all the

correct answers for the test and which ones the student got correct.

On Thursday, students who took the PSAT in early October will learn how to interpret their

score reports. The actual scores will be released online early next week. At that time, I will also

distribute paper score reports and PSAT test booklets.

Junior Meetings

If you’re the parent of a junior, you should have received emails from me about our junior meetings.
