It took me nearly three days to recover from my last whirlwind journey to America. During my time there I participated in two Ride Amagara fundraising events, visited with longstanding supporters of the ministry, preached in four churches and brought our message of hope to new friends in Amelia Island, Florida. I am encouraged at the continuing enthusiasm people have for saving the lives of children in Uganda. We are growing because of that enthusiasm. While I was in America, the ministry hosted teams of visitors from St. Louis and Chicago. They brought books and clothing and pure joy to both the children and the communities in which they live. From those visits, new projects have been identified for building a medical clinic in Rubanda and also helping to educate our medical personnel. I know I've said it before but the children continue to thrive. Max Duff, Boy Missionary!

Sounds like a superhero, doesn't it? The label is not far off. Wehave watched Max grow immensely as he travels to Uganda withhis dad Pastor Keith Duff and team from Village Bible Church ofSugar Grove, IL. This year was his third trip. Returning last year,he told his mom, "I want to sponsor a Juna Amagara child." Momsaid OK but he'd have to earn the $35.00 per month to do it. SoMax went to work. He mows lawns, sells things, performs choresand always pays the bill. Then, when he travels to Uganda, hemeets his sponsored brother. How cool is THAT?! This only illustrates that you're never too young to travel toUganda or sponsor a child or both. If you would like to sponsor achild in the Juna Amagara program, CLICK HERE.

Though she holds aCertificate in Nursing, Brendais now working to earn herBachelors in Nursing toexpand her ability to provideacute care. She has a fewsponsors to help with hertuition, but could use a fewmore. CLICK HERE todonate. At the same time, our goodfriend Godfrey Bampabwire, until recently, the administratorof the Bufundi Health Center(BHC) in Kishanje, has begunhis second year of medicalschool. An orphan since age9, Godfrey has always madehis own way in the world, nowsupporting a wife and family. Afew years ago he watched asBrenda and the HEAL Clinicon the campus at KishanjeLearning Center serviced thecommunity in ways BHC couldnot. He had always wanted togo to medical school but it wasonly after great encourage-ment from people at JunaAmagara that he made the

The Rachel Storyin Book and Video

Recently, long-time ministry supporter Connie Hoogeveen of VanMeter, Iowa was moved to make a book about one Juna

Amagara child named Rachel. We've featured Rachel in thesepages before, an orphan at nineyears old, sent to live with analcoholic aunt and uncle inKishanje, who was rescued byvisiting missionaries for JunaAmagara. Connie met Rachel in

Uganda and had an inspiring time just talking and drawing. Shecreated a book entitled "Do You Have a Mom?" from availablephotos of Rachel. When Terri Oliver of Fernandina Beach, FLsaw the book, she was moved to tears and made a video of thebook set to the tune"The Greatest Love ofAll" by George Benson.CLICK HERE TO SEETHE VIDEO. Indeed, Rachel's storydemonstrates how in avery short time, thisministry pulls a child from the depths of hopelessness andlaunches him or her onto a path of hope and joy andproductivity. And also how that simple act can be a powerful, emotional lesson for us all. Yes, these are OUR childrenexperiencing the greatest love of all.
