2010 Fundraising Campaign Continues SOKM's fundraising goal for 2010: $100.00 from 350 people. As of

this newsletter, we are up to $29,000 and only need 60 more people todonate $100 to reach our goal of $35,000. That along with severalgrants that SOKM has received will allow the district to keep the currentmusic program in place for our students both at the comprehensivemiddle schools (beginning, intermediate and advanced band) and theafter school Youth Arts Academy (beginning band, concert band, The OffBeats, beginning strings, advanced beginning strings, and choir).

Please donate to SOKM, and tell your friends, neighbors, and thoseparents whose children attend school or an after-school music activitysponsored by Pleasant Valley School District. Your money goes topurchase music, instruments, and to pay for musical instruction andscholarships for talented children who otherwise could not afford to play aninstrument. In addition, check with your employer to see if they have amatching funds program. We have received matching funds from Amgen,Baxter International, Boeing, Intuit, and Verizon. The children count onyou!
