• Aimed at elected representatives and practitioners
• Answers the following questions:– Where to start?– How can local and regional governments take
action– Links with energy management and climate
protection– European dimension of sustainable energy policy– Where to get help and support?

• Encourages local and regional governments to link energy policy into their existing sustainable development strategies or environmental management plans etc.
• Introduces ten steps towards sustainable energy policy (for decision makers)
