Art Walk Day Featured Programs
Beverly Art Walk Music Stage10244 S. Longwood DriveCelebrated as Chicago’s only castle, the Givins Castle has stood atop a hill for over
130 years near the intersection of 103rd Street and Longwood Drive. Built in the 19th
Century, the castle’s presence today in the Beverly/Morgan Park community acts almost
as a time portal back to the Middle Ages of Europe and instantly fuels any passerby’s
imagination. The Beverly Area Arts Alliance is honored to be welcomed by the castle’s
current caretakers, the Beverly Unitarian Church, to host this year’s main music stage
for the Beverly Art Walk and provide an amazing atmosphere for all to enjoy.
The following organizations will be on site to meet with attendees of the main music
stage: Chicago White Sox, Lawyers for the Creative Arts, GrooveSafe, and the Givins
Beverly Castle Restoration Task Force.
2019 Beverly Art Walk Music DonorsThe amazing music heard throughout Art Walk day would not be possible without
generous donations of time, talent, and various items. The Beverly Area Arts Alliance
would like to specifically thank Scott McCaughey (Filthy Friends, R.E.M.), Jason Narducy
(Split Single), Mark Greenberg (The Wilco Loft), Kelly Hogan, Scott Ligon, & Nora
O’Connor, Bloodshot Records, Guitar Center (Country Club Hills), as well as the Beverly
Arts Center and County Fair for providing donations to the 2019 Art Walk music fund.
Beverly Arts Center2407 W. 111th StreetThe Beverly Arts Center is proud to host The
Chicago Midwest Chapter of the National
Cartoonists Society (NCS) and their first ever
exhibition by midwest chapter members,
“Drawn to Humor!” NCS members participating
are newspaper comic strip and comic panel
artists, caricaturists, magazine gag cartoonists,
editorial cartoonists, humorous illustrators,
and other professionals working in and around
Chicago and the surrounding states. NCS members will also host an open house at
the BAC for Art Walk, complete with professional cartoonist presentations, cartoon
workshops, caricatures, work from NCS students, and more. In addition, St. Xavier
University’s Visual Arts Department brings a multi-room, multi-media exhibition of stellar
work by students, faculty, and alumni.

The 95th Street Business Association congratulates the Beverly Area Arts Alliance
on another successful Art Walk!
www.beverlyarts.org [email protected]
The Beverly Area Arts Alliance cultivates collaborations between artists and community
members to foster Beverly as a hub of culture and creativity on Chicago’s far south
side and as a vibrant place to live and do business. In addition to the Beverly Art Walk,
the Alliance organizes pop-up exhibitions in local businesses and vacant storefronts,
facilitates educational opportunities for area artists, students, and community members,
and is a presenting partner of the quarterly reading series, The Frunchroom.
The Beverly Art Walk would not be possible without the generous financial support of
local small businesses and families, as well as countless volunteer hours by the Alliance
board, artists, and neighbors. Please support our local arts community: purchase art,
shop participating venues, and attend our events. We are driven by our love for art and
the people who make it, and we are thankful for our local businesses and organizations
who embrace the arts.
