He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Counseling from John Wesley College. In the summer of 2016, Kevan and his friends took a trip across Europe, in which they left his wheelchair at home and his friends carried him for three weeks in a backpack. An avid storyteller, Kevan is the author of five books, including a memoir of the trip entitled The View From Here, and he speaks worldwide about his unique life with a disability. SIMON CZAJKOWSKISimon Czajkowski (chai-kov-ski) has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree (majors in Psychology and Human Biology) and a

Master of Science degree (in Physiology), both from the

University of Toronto. Simon recently completed a Master of Bioethics degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, in Belgium. His thesis applied a frame-work similar to the Oakes test for reconciling physician conscientious objection with patient access to health care related services. Simon has been serving as Research Director of the deVeber Institute since January 2019, and as Interim Executive Director since May 2019.

DR. JOEL BRINDDr. Brind is a professor of human biology and endocrinology at Baruch College of the City University of New York. During the

1980s, he specialized in the metabolism of steroid hormones

and their relation to various human diseases, including breast cancer. In 1992 Dr. Brind came across the evidence linking abortion and breast cancer. He compiled and published critical reviews on the subject in1996, 2005 and 2018 in peer-reviewed medical journals. In 1999, Dr.Brind co-founded the nonprofit Breast Cancer Prevention Institute. He served as a member of the Federal government’s CDC advisory committee on the early detection and control of breast and cervical cancer. Since 2007 Dr. Brind has also been studying amino acid metabolism in the context of nutrition and aging. In 2010 he founded Natural Food Science, LLC, which makes and markets the supplement sweetamine® (www.sweetamine.com), based on his research conclusion that the amino acid glycine is the body’s most important regulator of inflammation.

JIM HUGHESJim left a successful business career in 1978 to become the Toronto Chairman of Campaign Life. In 1982, Jim was elected

President of Campaign Life Canada. In 1987, he became

the President of Campaign Life Coalition Canada, which was created from the merger of Campaign Life and Coalition for Life. Jim has worked to build a stronger sense of unity among pro-lifers, championing a closer cooperation between the educational, service, and political organizations. Since October 2018, in his new capacity as CLC’s President Emeritus, Jim continues to meet with numerous pro-life leaders around the world on a regular basis in order to share crucial information and develop and cooperate with international strategies that result from these encounters.

DR. BYRON CALHOUNDr. Calhoun serves as Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the West Virginia University-

Charleston. He has authored 82 peer-reviewed articles in the

obstetric and gynecologic literature, presented over 100 scientific papers, participated in over 40 research projects, and published numerous articles on medical aspects of obstetrics and gynecology.

ALEX SCHADENBERGAlex is the executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, which he established in 1999. Alex

has had articles published in newspapers world-wide and is

the author of book, Exposing Vulnerable People to Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide.

JANET SMITH Janet is the author of Humanae Vitae: A Generation Later and A Right to Privacy. Self-Gift is a volume of her already published essays on

Humanae Vitae and the thought of John Paul II. She edited Why

Humanae Vitae is Right: A Reader, Life Issues, Medical Choices (with Christopher Kaczor) Living the Truth in Love: Pastoral Approaches to Same-Sex Attractions (with R. Paul Check) and Why Humanae Vitae is Still Right. Prof Smith served three terms as a consulter to the Pontifical Council on the Family and also served as a member of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission, III for 8 years. Janet has a regular column in the National Catholic Register. She has received three honorary doctorates and several otherawards for scholarship and service. More than two million copies of her talk, “Contraception: Why Not” have been distributed.

TERESA HARTNETTTeresa Hartnett is in her 16th year as Director of Family Ministry for the Diocese of Hamilton. She has her Masters in Religious

Education from St. Augustine’s Seminary/University of

Toronto, a degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, and is certified in a number of family, couselling, marriage and relationship programs. She has been the Executive Director of Birthright Pregnancy Service in Hamilton for 31years and in 2004 implemented and now oversees Project Rachel in the Hamilton Diocese. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families to grow strong, healthy and happy in both how they live and in their faith! She believes her most important role is in her family as a wife of Joe, mother to her four children and grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren!

THOMAS JACOBSONThomas is the Executive

Director of Global Life Campaign and the President of GLC Publications, and co-author of the Abortion

Worldwide Report (2018). He has worked with diplomats

and pro-life/family leaders and advocates from many nations on public

policy issues pertaining to the sanctity of human life and lifting up inherent human rights and the family, among other issues.

WARREN L. WILLIAMSWarren has a BA in Psychology and an MBA from the University of Colorado. He is a Charter Member of the American Association of

Christian Counselors. He and his wife founded Boulder Caring

Pregnancy Center, a regional center in Boulder County CO. He founded Fathers & Brothers Ministries International, to help men heal from the loss of their fatherhood by abortion. He is a published author: “Fatherhood Lost” Suggested Guidelines in Leading a Bible Study, and a Bible Study entitled: “Missing Arrows” for use in men’s recovery groups. He has authored articles for Focus on the Family, AACC, co-authored articles, and was a contributor in the published book Fatherhood Aborted.

ANGELINA STEENSTRAAngelina had an abortion at the age of 15 after becoming pregnant through a date rape. Her journey of healing, forgiveness and reconciliation,

along with her background in Social Services led her to co-found

Second Chance Post Abortion Healing in 1991. She is the National Coordinator of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, Canada.
