Proceeds to benefit the EcoTarium’s mission to inspire a passion for science and nature and support innovative programs and exhibits.

Saturday, May 12, 2018

We’re thrilled to have you join us for an evening of celebration at the EcoTarium’s “A Night at the Museum”!

We have an out-of-this world program specially designed to inspire a passion for science and nature in you, our guest. In addition to fi ne food and company, you’ll enjoy hands-on demonstrations from the education staff and you may even get up close and personal with one of our Animal Ambassadors.

A Night at the Museum could not have come at a better time. Tonight, we announce the groundbreaking of Wild Cat Station – a new exhibit that will open to the public in 2019. This exhibit was made possible thanks to many of the guests with us tonight. To all who have supported the EcoTarium and this project, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This evening, we honor two very special friends of the EcoTarium; Martha Pappas and Brian W. Thompson. We acknowledge these individuals not only for their longstanding commitments to the EcoTarium, but to the larger community as well. For many years, Martha and Brian have been positive infl uences in our community. We ask you to join us in thanking them this evening.

Generations of families and community leaders have begun their own science adventures by stepping through our doors. What will you learn tonight? Whatever it is, we know you’ll have fun while you’re here. Thank you for being a part of this special celebration and for making tonight a success!

Sincerely,

Patty Eppinger Raymond L. QuinlanInterim President Chair, Board of Trustees

WELCOME TO

A Night at the Museum is an exciting, eye-opening opportunity to experience one of our community’s most important educational resources — and learn through experience what the EcoTarium is all about.

For nearly 200 years, the EcoTarium has been one of our community’s most important educational resources. Today, it is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to collaborative education, partnering with local schools and educators, encouraging students to engage in learning science, nature, technology and math through hands-on discovery.

We’re proud to partner with the EcoTarium and to support its mission to make ours a smarter, more exciting and vibrant community.

FUND-A-NEED

Each year, support from the community helps the EcoTarium to

underwrite critical educational programs such as our Summer

Discovery Camp scholarships, Countdown to Kindergarten, and

our Social Service membership program. In 2017, the cost to run

these programs was more than $425,000.

Right here in our city, more than 77% of students in the Worcester

Public School system are categorized as “high needs” – low

income, English language learners, or students with disabilities.

Providing inspiration and learning opportunities to those students

and other vulnerable populations is an important part of the

museum’s vision. This evening’s Fund-A-Need will be directed to

improving museum access to these groups.

Thanks to the generosity of the Arthur M. and Martha R. Pappas

Foundation, all gifts to the Fund-A-Need this evening, up to

$50,000, will be matched.

Thank you for your most generous support.
