GARDENS AND ARTISTS

1 Ian & Elizabeth Greene Garden 306 Park | Tucked away under the lush canopy of mature trees, the Greene’s garden is a great example of what one can do to create a shady oasis. The backyard has a wonderful view, water features, and over 1200 hostas!

Linda Elmore is self-taught in lampwork and owner of LE Originals. Flowers have been a favorite theme for a while, and there’s no better time for jewelry and gifts to shine than in a garden.

Frank Koontz creates wind chimes, mobiles, whimsical figurines, tiles, pots, and bowls from stoneware. Much of his work is inspired by nature. But the ideas for his whimsical figurines, which are named “Franksters” and are meant to be displayed in a flower pot or garden, just burble up from his subconscious.

Craig Martin’s pieces are mixed media drawings (acrylic, charcoal, pastel, spray paint) that explore the enigmatic aspects of tree and plant forms. The idea of working in a garden has always intrigued him, as well as seeing the art that results from the day’s activities.

2 Ruben & Maria Sepulveda Garden 324 Park Lane | This gorgeous Spanish-tudor style home is anchored into the neighborhood by a colorful display of cultivated plants. Visitors will be greeted by cheerful ornamentals along the walkway and potted plants nestled on their patio and balconies.

Chloe Harshman has had a variety interests over the years but settled on her love for glass, making squares out of glass and utilizing cast off items to incorporate into glass. This is an evolving process. She never knows what she will end up with until it is done.

Jane Sellers’ creative work with soaps is an extension of a 30-year career as a chemist at Eli Lilly and Co. She loves to use nature’s scents (essential oils) and blessings (flowers and/or additives) in their creation, knowing that they

provide far more nourishing benefits to your skin than commercially produced soaps and washes that contain harsh detergents and chemicals.

Sonya Thomas has always felt an intimate relationship with nature. This coupled with a lifelong appreciation of art, inspires her to honor the beauty and spirit of nature with the rich and vivid medium of pastels.

3 Map Station | Lincoln Park is one of two pocket parks in New Chauncey neighborhood. This half-acre lot contains a shelter with picnic tables, an accessible playground for ages 2-12 with a swing set, and a drinking fountain. Stop by with the family and grab a brochure.

Carolyn Cason has been creating artisan jewelry since 2001. She cherishes the natural beauty of gemstones and freshwater pearls. In recent years she has also come to enjoy and appreciate seashells and sea glass as jewelry components. Cason wraps them as gemstone focal beads to use on necklaces and earrings.

4 Daniel & Lisa Pantea Garden | 849 N. Salisbury The Pantea’s purchased their home 22 years ago

from florist and avid gardener, Molly Roth. Lisa gatheres inspiration during her visits to England

and admires works by perennial garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. In the spring, most passer-byers buzz like pollinators over the bright-orange poppies that “pop” in the sun. One must check out this garden!

Jennifer Brovont loves working with broken left-over scraps of glass and forming them into something new and beautiful, such as transforming windows that are no longer useful into works of art.

5 Aaron & Jennifer Flesher Garden 906 N. Chauncey | The garden on this quiet street is anything but quiet! The Flesher’s moved into the neighborhood 3 years ago and transformed their backyard into a beautiful family space. You can tell the gardener is a collector of the cultivated with plants like Aralia ‘Sun King’ and Henry’s Garnet Sweetspire.

Priya Sirohi’s fluid acrylic pour art embraces emergent patterns and color gradients, breaking us free from a visual world dominated by rigid geometries. Sirohi uses South Asian color theory and similarly fluid henna designs. Conscious of sustainability in art, Sirohi reuses excess paint by catching drips on canvas paper and bookbinds them into homemade journals.
