STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Describing Shiv Sena Supremo, Bal Thackeray as the true leader of masses, State General Secretary, Manish Sahni on Friday said that Bal Thackeray was never against a particular religion or community but always demanded strict action against terrorists, anti-nationals and their supporters. "A segment of society mis- construed him for advocating stern-action against anti- nationals and enemies of coun- try. Bal Thackeray opposed playing cricket with Pakistan only because he wanted to put pressure on neighbouring country for impeding its nefar- ious activities against India," he asserted. While addressing media dur- ing a special function held here organised by the State unit of Shiv Sena to celebrate release of movie 'Thackeray', President, Dimpy Kohli informed that the movie has made a record by becoming the first film to be released at 4:15 AM. Manish Sahni further added that Bal Thackeray was the man who always stood for his people and was known as the Hindu Hridaya Samrat. Urging locals to watch the movie in a large number, he warned separatists and their supporters to abstain from anti-national and anti-Hindu activities, failing which the nationalist forces like Shiv Sena would be forced to teach them a lesson. Terrorists hurl grenade at security forces STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Terrorists on Friday carried out two grenade attacks on security forces in Anantnag and Pulwama districts of ahead of the Republic Day, police said. There were two incidents of hurling of grenade by the militants in south Kashmir, they said. The strike took place in Anantnag and Pulwama areas, police said. A loud bang was heard in the Civil Lines area of the city as well, but the police have ruled out a militant attack. No casualty has been reported, they added. A person died and four oth- ers were injured when their car skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge on Ramban-Gool road near Dharamkund, they said. In a separate accident, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the traffic police and two civilians were injured in a landslide in Anokhi area of the district, they said. Teachers asked to submit online applications for transfer by Feb 5 STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu asked all the government teachers to submit their applications via online through the Google form link for transfer within district Jammu before or by February 5, 2019. In a circular issued on Friday, CEO Jammu advised teachers not to approach the CEO office directly for effect- ing transfer as no request without proper application shall be entertained in this respect. Further, CEO said a com- mittee has been constituted to scrutinise all the applications received in this regard on the basis of the recommendation of the committee. “The trans- ferred shall be effected in a transparent manner to end ambiguity in the matter,” the circular said. Fresh landslides hit Jammu-Srinagar NH STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Five fresh land- slides on Friday hit the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which remained closed for the fifth consecu- tive day, leaving 1,500 vehi- cles stranded at different places, officials said. There were fresh landslides on the highway at Gangroo, Ramsoo, Pantiyal and Anokhi areas in Ramban dis- tricts, they said. A portion of the highway has sunk near BGO office Ramsoo and work for clear- ance of landslides and restoration of the highway by men and machine of BRO is on, they said. Dy SP (Highway) Pardeep Singh, who is monitoring the work himself, said the earlier landslide at Sherbibi was cleared but the work on the rest is on. He said a portion of the road, which sunk at BDO office in Ramsoo, will be made trafficable for one way traffic after repairs. JAMMU: Chief EducationOfficer (CEO) Jammu askedall the government teachersto submit their applicationsvia online through theGoogle form link for transferwithin district Jammubefore or by February 5,2019.

In a circular issued onFriday, CEO Jammu advisedteachers not to approach theCEO office directly for effect-ing transfer as no requestwithout proper applicationshall be entertained in thisrespect.

Further, CEO said a com-mittee has been constituted toscrutinise all the applicationsreceived in this regard on thebasis of the recommendationof the committee. “The trans-ferred shall be effected in atransparent manner to endambiguity in the matter,” thecircular said.

Fresh landslides hitJammu-Srinagar NH

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Five fresh land-slides on Friday hit theJammu-Srinagar NationalHighway, which remainedclosed for the fifth consecu-tive day, leaving 1,500 vehi-cles stranded at differentplaces, officials said.

There were fresh landslideson the highway at Gangroo,Ramsoo, Pantiyal andAnokhi areas in Ramban dis-tricts, they said.

A portion of the highwayhas sunk near BGO officeRamsoo and work for clear-ance of landslides andrestoration of the highway bymen and machine of BRO ison, they said.

Dy SP (Highway) PardeepSingh, who is monitoring thework himself, said the earlierlandslide at Sherbibi wascleared but the work on therest is on.

He said a portion of theroad, which sunk at BDOoffice in Ramsoo, will bemade trafficable for one waytraffic after repairs.

SRO-82 issued on Friday by Navin K Choudhary, PrincipalSecretary, Finance Department read, "In exercise of the powersconferred by clause (a) of section 9 of the Stamp Act Svt. 1977(Act No. XL of 1977) and in supersession of all previous notifica-tion(s) issued on the subject, the government being satisfied thatit is necessary to do so in public interest hereby direct that claus-es (a) and (b) of Article 18 under Schedule-I of the Act shall besubstituted with the newly notified clauses which read, “(a) wherethe land or estate is within any urban or rural area, 7 per cent ofthe market value of such land or area; (b) where the land or estateis within any urban or rural area registered in the name of afemale member of the family, 3 per cent of the market value ofsuch land or area and (c) where the land or estate is within anyurban or rural area registered jointly in the name of Husband andWife, 5 per cent of the market value of such land or area’.”
