Hello Friends, Let’s hope some sunshine is coming our way. This year’s new ER, Julio Flores, will be installing this year’s LOE officers at our April 6
th meeting.
This year’s elected officers are: President – Denise Campbell Vice President – Chris London Secretary – Hope Baker Treasurer – Jaci Dietch Sgt. at Arms – Gloria Gault Historian – Freddie Trout We will celebrate with a home cooked prime rib dinner following the meeting. The LOE will also be presenting Julio with a check for $506.34 to the Elks for deposit to the charity of their choosing. It is through your generous support that we are able to share the gratuities that we receive and are able to pass them along to our Lodge and its charities. Great team work! The LOE has also purchased two new deep fryers for behind the bar. Again with your continued support of LOE activities and events, we are able to lend a hand in purchasing much needed equipment for our business. Thank you! See you all at the Installation Ball!
Take care, Denise Campbell
On behalf of the elected officers I would like to thank the membership for your support and trust in allowing us to lead the lodge for the 2016-2017 year. A special thanks to the newly minted PER Cheri Michaelson who did a great job and put countless hours into our lodge events this past year. From speaking with Elks across the country its evident that all Lodges have challenges to overcome; however, I noticed the constant and key theme of embracing or enacting “Change” emerge during these conversations. Change, a subject which our lodge has tactically embrace and acted upon to ensure our survival and contribute to its growth. Others lodges take a “Hope and Change” position (We hope this will change), our lodge has taken a “Try and Do” attitude (Let’s try this; if it works let’s keep do it again). I challenge the membership to come up with ideas for events or passion projects so that we can consider and move them forward as a Lodge. Don’t let the fact that an event or project hasn’t been done or didn’t succeed before deter you: let’s talk about it, let’s do it, and if it works let’s
keep it! Julio Flores

They prepared and served a delicious meal for Old Timers Night. A special thank you also to Becky Beeks for making and donating some tasty crème puffs. Congratulations to all you new
Lodge Officers! By Ron Hicks Grand Exalted Ruler
Congratulations to all newly elected Lodge Officers! You can be proud that the Members of your Lodge have selected you to serve in a leadership role for the coming Lodge year. I know that each of you will uphold the principles of Elkdom as you support and enhance the activities of your Lodge and commit yourselves to my theme of “Elks Pride – Community Focus.” Now, please take the next essential step of coming together, as a team, to assess where your Lodge is and make plans for where you want it to be. Consider: 1) What has worked well for your Lodge, 2) What can be improved, and 3) What are some new ideas to try in your Lodge? Then, seek out the talents in your Lodge and surround yourself with Members who want to join you in helping to make a difference. Understand and utilize the resources offered through your State Association and the Grand Lodge, be willing to take time for others and listen to your Members. Don’t dwell on the negative, and when making any decision, always have the best interests of your Lodge in mind. Be positive and enthusiastic in all you do. Be a mentor and bring others along with you, and when communicating, choose your words wisely, for the words you use have the power to put spring into a Member’s step and give him or her confidence. Expect success and celebrate your successes. The “Community Focus” of your Lodge is greatly enhanced when driven by “Elks Pride.” Take your Elks Pride into the Community and show how “Elks Care – Elks Share,” and demonstrate your commitment to youth, patriotism, Drug Awareness, Veterans, local charities and those in need. Through these efforts, you will put a face on your Lodge and prove that you are a reliable partner for your community. We offer great appeal to those who know who we are and what we do,
