RELIEF PRINTING USING LINOCUTS TUTOR: VERA ZULUMOVSKI
DATE: the workshop will be run over two Saturdays on
21 & 28 MARCH 2015 from 10am to 4pm. Participants will
need to commit to both days.
COST: $250 including some materials

Vera Zulumovski has been making linocuts for 25 years. Her work is represented in
major public collections including the National Gallery of Australia. She is no stranger
to the Hunter Valley. You can view her work online at http://verazulumovski.com/
Her Linocuts are unique for their scale, complex imagery and extraordinary cutting
technique. During the workshop Vera will discuss her work as well as show examples
explaining how the work is created.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with prior
printmaking experience. During the workshop participants will: explore this bold and graphic medium through the creation of their own
linocut prints.
they will learn how to prepare and carve a lino block.

by the end of the second week workshop participants will have produced
a small edition of their own design ready for framing.
The tutor will supply the following:
Silkcut lino 30x30 cm
Acid free paper for an edition of 5
All proofing paper
Use of Vanson inks
Participants are to bring the following:
Lunch & coffee cup, an apron
Notepad & drawing materials, pencil, erasers, scissors, sketch books
A drawing they wish to transfer, the drawing should be suitable for a
graphic medium like linocut and be photocopied on A2. Bring several
images if you are unsure.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Cancellations made by the student less than 48
hrs prior to workshop date will not be refunded.
The workshop will fully refund any class that has been cancelled due to insufficient
numbers.
