IMPORTANT Factory pre-sealed cork floor tiles may be wax coated which will affect the drying of Rustin’s Polyurethane Floor Sealer. Test on a spare tile or a small area of the floor. If the coating still remains tacky after eight to ten hours the floor should be dewaxed with White Spirit and steel wool, wiping whilst still damp with clean rag. STIR WELL BEFORE USE. IF NOT STIRRED UNTIL THERE IS NO SEDIMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TIN, THE SEALER MAY DRY GLOSSY. Rustins Polyurethane Floor Sealer is a high solid air drying Polyurethane. For use on clean, bare wood, hardboard, MDF and unsealed cork. Three coats are recommended on wood and four on cork floors. It is essential that the floor is thoroughly clean and free from wax and grease. If a floor has previously been waxed, it is advisable to clean the wax off the floor, even if it is to be sanded, otherwise wax can be left on the sanding belt and traces left on the sanded floor. This would then prevent the Polyurethane from drying properly. Wax polish can be removed by rubbing in the direction of the grain with grade 3 or 4 steel wool and White Spirit, wiping off the solution of wax formed with clean rag. If the floor is to be sanded, ensure that all nail heads are punched below the surface before sanding. Nail holes and cracks can be filled with Rustins Wood Stopping. Existing varnish not being removed should be clean and lightly sanded to provide a key. Bare wood or old floors that have been sanded may be stained with Rustins Wood Dye before coating. Other brands of dye may not be compatible. The Polyurethane Floor Sealer should be applied liberally with the biggest brush available, or with a roller. The drying time is between 4-6 hours, according to temperature. This tin will cover approximately 35 square metres one coat, depending on porosity of the surface. Brushes and rollers can be cleaned after use with White Spirit or Rustins Brush Restorer. White Spirit may also be used to thin the Polyurethane Floor Sealer, if required. The sealer may also be used on old concrete to prevent dusting. HEALTH AND SAFETY Flammable liquid and vapour. Contains cobalt octoate, methyl ethyl ketoxime. May produce an allergic reaction. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Wear eye protection. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water. In case of fire: Use carbon dioxide for extinction. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Dispose of contents/container to hazardous or special waste collection point. satin finish for wood and cork Clear satin finish for wood and cork Clear World’s finest range of products for the professional & home handyman For information on Rustins’ products visit our website at www.rustins.co.uk or contact us at Rustins Ltd, Waterloo Road, London, NW2 7TX United Kingdom [email protected] Telephone: +44 (0)20 8450 4666 Rustins’ range includes: Acrylic Varnishes Aluminium Paints Bitumen Black Black Matt Paint Blackboard Black Brick & Tile Paint Clear Metal Lacquer for Brass & Copper Danish Oil French Polishes Gold Paint Grainfiller Knotting Paint, Gloss & Undercoat Polyurethane Varnishes Primers Quick Drying Coloured Varnishes Radiator Paint Rust Remover Strypit Paint & Varnish Stripper Teak Oil Wallpaper Remover Wood Dyes Woodstopping Yacht Varnish Contents will cover approximately 35 sq. metres (375 sq. ft.) one coat 2 1 / 2 litres Made in UK EU Limit value for this product (CAT A/i): 500g/l (2010) This product contains max 460 g/l VOC WARNING
