Brazen- bold; shameless, impudent Syn- blatant, impertinent, insolent

Claustrophobia- fear of small, confined places It's surprising that a lot of big people have

claustrophobia. Cleave- to split or separate or to stick, cling,

adhere Syn- carve, dissect, bisect

Denunciation- public condemnation Syn- charge, blame

The lawyer made a denunciation of all the charges that were thrown at his client.

Depict- to describe; represent Syn- interpret, image

The lawyer wanted to depict that the defendant is a criminal.

Enormity- state of being gigantic or terrible Syn- Hugeness, Immensity

The enormity of the situation is not understood by the child.

Enshroud- to cover, enclose with a dark cover Syn- cloak, conceal

He wanted to enshroud the room with black cloth, so to capture the ambiance of Halloween.

Implicate- to involve in a crime; incriminate Syn- Frame, Accuse

Implicit- implied; not directly expressed The implicit message was missed by the entire

crowd.

Legerdemain- trickery The legerdemain was praised by people for its

deception. Lenient- easygoing; permissive

Alex Teacher is not lenient. Malevolent- ill-willed; causing evil or harm to

others The malevolent cat scratched me after I tried to give

it a bath.
