My Brethren all, we have before us yet
another full month in September. The
lodge is humming with activity. Be-
tween Lodge, DeMolay, and York Rite
you will find someone in lodge any time
of the month! The Wardens entries will
inform you of the activity the Lodge has
in store for September. Make sure to
mark your calendars appropriately.
Our Lodge is flourishing and I would
like to take this opportunity to thank
each one of you for your support and
dedication to our order. We, as the of-
ficers, have grown into our positions
and have now started our journey to the
next level. This could not be done without
YOU!!! It is the strength of the craft and
love of our fellow Brothers that make us a
cohesive unit. The officers in turn do our
best in our Ritual in hopes that it pleases
you and brings pride to the Craft.
I look forward to seeing you at Lodge at
one of the many activities we have planned
for this month. Your presence at the lodge
makes a great difference not only for the
Craft but I assure you that it will make an
even greater difference in You.
Fraternally,
Juan de la Rosa
Worshipful Master

Greetings from the West Brothers,
Looking at our Masonic calendar, it appears we’re going to have a very busy month. So break-
out your personal calendars and start jotting down the following dates.
On Saturday September 14th, there will be two events to choose from. Either way you go,
you’re bound to receive some quality Masonic education. Open books will be held at our lodge
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the same time, Manatee Lodge will be hosting the Master Mason
1, 2 and 3 exams. For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to take the Master Mason
exam, I highly encourage you to try and make this event. Not only will you learn some basics
on how to navigate the Masonic Digest, but the course will also be annotated in your Masonic
Record. The exams are open book and it is encouraged that groups form to help each other out.
Tuesday, September 17th our degree team will be conferring the Entered Apprentice degree for three candidates. Brothers, this will
be the first time our “soon-to-be” obligated brethren will get the opportunity to witness the craft in action. Let’s show them some
true fellowship and brother love by attending this degree.
Last, but certainly not least, we will have a Past Master’s night on our last stated meeting September 24 th. Come out and show your
appreciation for our Past Masters and all they did for our lodge during their tenure. And hey, all you Past Masters don’t be shy.
Come on out and enjoy some quality fellowship prior to the stated meeting, hear a few words from our current Worshipful Master
and allow all of us to pay our respects to you. Our Stewards are sure to whip-up a good meal and I’m sure the wives won’t mind
you get outta the house for a while!
Hope to see you all at some of the events and more importantly, please have a safe and pleasant September.
Fraternally,
Br. Damian Ostermeyer
Senior Warden

When we do Masonic prayers, we are taught to make them non-denomination. I was conversing with another brother
when he mentioned that he did a Masonic prayer and since he is accustomed to add a religious remark at the end, it
slipped out. I’ve seen it happen in Masonic prayers too and never have been offended because while the Chaplain, or
whoever, might be verbally delivering a prayer, it is our personal spiritual connection with the Great Architect of the
Universe that truly matters. – Andrew Gluchov

Greetings from the South,
September is upon us already. It seems like this year has flown by so far. This
month is definitely loaded with action.
On Tuesday, September 3rd, we will be hosting a Widows/Ladies night at the lodge.
The event starts at 6:30 as we honor our better halves. On Tuesday, September 24th,
our stated meeting will also be our Past Masters night. We invite all of our Past
Masters to join us at the lodge and be recognized. Dinner is at 6:30 with the meeting
to follow.
On Saturday, September 7th, the district will be holding its annual bowling event to
raise funds for the district sponsored Grand Master’s dinner. The event will take
place at Sarasota Lanes from noon to 2pm. The cost is $20 and that includes all
bowling expenses plus food and $5 goes to the Grand Master’s dinner.
On Saturday, September 14th, the district will have open books at Sarasota #147
from 9am to 1pm. Come out and read up on ritual so we can continue to improve as
a lodge as well as individually. On Thursday, September 26th, the Master Masons
Association will be meeting at Sarasota #147. The meeting starts at 6:45pm with the
district school of instruction to follow. Come out and see what other lodges are up
to and learn something about Masonry.

Officers
DeMolay Sarasota Chapter Order of DeMolay sent 9 boys to
the state Conclave in Gainesville. Everyone had a
good time and once again, Sarasota had a strong
presence that people noticed. State Master Counci-
lor and Master Mason Harrison Sherwin finished
out his term and passed his collar on. The chapter
is very proud of the job brother Sherwin demon-
strated as State Master Councilor and look forward
to seeing him as an advisor. Then Master Councilor Keaton Frati-
celli-Mendieta was the recipient of the Knight of Jerusalem award,
which goes to the top Sir Knight of the year. He is one of only 10 to
hold that award. He also won 1st place in the senior division mile
run. The chapter had its installation of officers where Tristan Crimi
was installed as the new Master Councilor. He will need everyone’s
support as the chapter continues to move towards obtaining their
charter. The chapter meets at Sarasota #147 on the first and third
Thursdays at 7:30pm with fun days on the second and forth Thurs-
days. If you know a young man between the ages of 12-20, be him
related or not, and think DeMolay would be good for him, please
contact Chapter Dad Larry Bernard or any other chapter advisor.
