She has had to deal with the unfair stigma attached to mental health issues for many years.
But now, brave 18-year-old Sarah Barrett is battling back with an awareness campaign urging people
to “fight the stigma”.The City College Norwich
student, who lives with her family near Southwold, has had post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for many years after being the victim of a violent attack when she was younger.
She was bullied at school, even when people noticed cuts from
where she had self-harmed.But now, as part of her extended
project qualification at college, Sarah has created a campaigning website to raise awareness about mental health issues.
“The more people that know about it, the better,” she said.
