SAP Note 25365 - Allocation: error message GA733 or GA749

Note Language: English Version: 10 Validity: Valid Since 23.12.1999

    Summary

    Symptom

When you try to execute an FI-SL distribution or FI-SL assessment with

variable portions as tracing factor, the following error messages are

    issued:

GA733 'The segment contains no receivers'

    or

GA749 'Cycle &1, with starting date &2, does not contain any senders'

    Additional key words

    Assessment, distribution, allocation

    GA733, GA749

    Cause and prerequisites

This frequently involves an inheritance problem of the allocation forsummary tables, which have been installed prior to Release 4.6A.

    Example:

The costs of cost element 400,000 have to be distributed from cost center

1000 to cost centers 2000 and 3000 according to the number of employees in

    these cost centers.

    Sketch:

    Sender Receiver Tracing factor

    Account 400,000

    Cost center 1000 2000, 3000Stat. ratio MITARB

Due to the inheritance logic, cost element 400,000 is passed on to the

receiver, and in the end also to the receiver tracing factor.

Cost centers 2000 and 3000 are passed on to the receiver tracing factor in

    exactly the same way.

The system now tries to find records with cost element 400,000, cost center

2000 and 3000, statistical ratio MITARB.

However, this is not possible since the statistical ratio is always only

posted to one cost center (and never with cost element). Consequently, the

system does not find a receiver tracing factor.

    Solution

    1. For summary tables which have been installed as of Release 4.6A the

    problem should no longer occur.

For tables which have been installed prior to Release 4.6A you can as

of Release 4.6A deactivate the indicator "Inheritance from sender to

receiver allocation basis" (T811U-INHERSRC) using Transaction GCA8.

Then no sender values except for the company code or the company and

the version are inherited to the receiver allocation bases.

    2. For Releases < 4.6A

You maintain the cycle described as follows:

    Sketch

    Sender Receiver Tracing factor

    Account 400,000 INITIAL-SET

    Cost center 1000 2000, 3000

    Stat. ratio MITARB

You can correct the error by entering a set containing only one set line

for the cost element in the receiver tracing factor. You must enter 10

blank characters in this set line (press the space bar exactly 10 times).

As a result, the system is forced to search for valid receiver tracing

factors without cost elements, which you will find is eventually

    successful.

    Caution:

The dimension Statistical Ratio is only an example of the problems with

inheritance. The problem can occur for ANY dimension with similarconstellations of senders, receivers and tracing factors.

Refer to Note 75800 up to and including Release 3.1I.

Note for development of error search:

Under certain circumstances error message GA749 is also generated in

    function module G_RECORD_CHECK_AGAINST_COMB.
