Introduction to SAP R/3

SAP is a by product of a German company SAP AG .SAP SYSTEM, APPLICATION AND PRODUCTS IN DATA PROCESSING.SAP system consist of a complex integration of different modules.SAP runs on fourth generation programming language called ABAP.SAP is an Enterprise Resource planning (E.R.P) software product.SAP process transaction in real time and provide seam less information.Single data entry multiple reports.Transparent system.Information flow with security.

Purpose of R/3

The sole purpose of a R/3 system is to provide suite of tightly integrated ,large scale business application.

The standard set of applications delivered with each R/3 system are the following :-

The applications are called the functional modules of R/3.

SAP comes prepackaged with the core business application with more than 73000 tables in Standard R/3 product.

Next time when we have to run the same report, we open the transaction and click on GET VARIANT Icon. A window will pop-up which is list of variants and we can select our variant from that list.

This is Get Variant Icon through which variant is

selected.

fill automatically.

These are the three Icons that are used for layout management.

Once the report is open we can change the data that we see on the screen, we can also save these changes that we made, so that next time when we open the report we don’t have to make these changes again and again. And all this is done through the three Icons that were highlighted in the previous slide.

When u press this Icon a screen pops-up and u can see two lists. List on the left reads COLUMNS and list on right is COLUMN SET.

COLUMNS: This list is displayed in the report.

COLUMN SET: From this list we select columns to be displayed.
