SAP system comprises of a number of fully integrated modules, which covers virtually every aspect of the business management NetWeaver is SAP’s integrated technology platform ,and is not a product in itself . Netweaver makes possible access of SAP data using simple http protocol or even mobile . This eliminates the need of installing and more importantly training in SAP’s client side software.

Open Data Protocol (a.k.a OData) is a data access protocol from Microsoft released under the Microsoft

Open Specification Promise. The protocol was designed to provide standard CRUD access to a data source via a website. It is similar to JDBC and ODBC although OData is not limited to SQL databases.

The OData interface is an open standard that can be consumed by any softwareor device that can communicate using the HTTP(S) protocol and can parse andconstruct an XML document
