Problem:

Several employees have complained that the system has not worked correctly for

several days.

The company support organization is informed about the problems and is starting

root cause analysis using SAP Solution Manager.

To begin the analysis of the problem, the end-to-end change analysis application

will be used to check if configuration changes might be the root cause.

Problem:

An employee reports errors using the Web Intelligence application.

To analyze the problem, the End-to-End Exception Analysis application will be used

to isolate the component that causes the problem and to analyze error messages

written by the component.

Problem:

Several employees of a company have complained about slow system response

during the generation of Web Intelligence reports over the last few days.

To begin the analysis of the problem, the end-to-end workload analysis application

will be used to analyze which component is responsible for the long running

requests and whether resource bottlenecks occur.

Solution:

Central monitoring and End to End Workload analysis using SAP Solution Manager

is providing alerting and monitoring functionality for the SAP BusinessObjects

environment and the SAP environment in a single environment

Problem:

An employee complained about high system response time while refreshing an

Interactive Intelligence report.

End-to-end trace analysis will be used to determine whether the high response time

is mainly caused by client or server processing or network and which request and

component accounts for the highest part of the response time.

Solution:

Due to the missing SAP Portal component there are limitations on functionalities in

SBOP 4.0

No Knowledge Management, i. e. no operations involving documents are possible

Adobe Document Services (ADS) is not available (PDF generation is done via own SAP

library)

Report-Report-Interface is not possible

On the BI Platform, the BEx WAD Runtime does not support Information Broadcasting

Multiple Backend (ABAP) BW system is not supported
