Don’t forget treats for your pets during the holidays. They’re part of the family, too. Take extra care to keep them safe around decorations, lights and trees. Keep candies and foods out of their reach that could harm them if eaten. Keep tinsel away from your cats.

Maine State law requires that all savings accounts must have a deposit or withdrawal transaction made at least once every 3 years. Otherwise, the Credit Union is required by law to turn the account over to the State of Maine.

These gifts change lives:

Monty has made a donation to Heifer International to provide a needy family with a gift of honeybees. The gift comes with a package of bees, the box and hive, plus training in beekeeping.

This gift will help families from Uganda to El Salvador earn income through the sale of honey, beeswax and pollen. As bees search for nectar, they pollinate plants. Beehives can double some fruit and vegetable yields. Beekeeping can be a family’s livelihood and can be a boost to a whole village.

Monty also donated towards the gift of trees. Trees are such an important part of any small farm. A family with an orchard or

grove can supply their own fodder or fire-wood, sell fruits or nuts and begin saving for clean water, medicine, school and better homes.

Do you know the tradition of the Elf on the Shelf?

Many, many years ago a special scout elf was sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists.

When a family adopts a scout elf and gives it a name, the scout elf receives its Christmas magic and can fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa Claus about all of the day's adventures. What is your elf’s name?

Each morning, the scout elf returns to its family and perches in a different place to watch the fun. Children love to wake up and race around the house looking for their scout elf each morning. What places have you found your elf sitting?

Remember...Christmas is only a few weeks away, so be as good as you can be. You want your elf to tell Santa that your name is on the “nice” list!
