Workshops Sports Achievers
In the spirit of Republic Day, Pre Primary Wing
of Sant Nirankari Public School, Nirankari
Colony organized ‘Tearing and Pasting’
activity for the tiny tots. Our little scholars tore
the tiny bits of orange and green origami
sheets and pasted them on the National Flag.
The activity helped our pre-schoolers to
recognize the national tricolor in accordance
with enhancing their fine motor skills.
REPUBLIC DAY
Sant Nirankari Public School, Nirankari Colony
witnessed the celebration of the 71st Republic
Day in all its grandeur on 25th January 2020.
Celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood,
the entire school joined the school choir in
National Anthem as the invited dignitaries
hoisted the flag. Post a Shabad from Hardev
Vani, the entire breeze was filled with patriotism
with a stimulating speech. The little soldiers of
Pre-primary showcased an ecstatic dance
performance and Ketaki of Pre Primary recited a
patriotic poem on the Tricolour. Elaborative skit
on constitutional rights and duties, a melodious
patriotic song and graceful movements of the
dancers of the middle school was spellbinding.
Thereafter the venerable Chairperson, Ms.
Suraksha Bajaj and the Convener, Academic
Committee Dr. Asha Kapoor addressed the
gathering with optimistic fervour towards life.

To make the students of classes VIII and IX aware about child labour, a workshop on Anti-
trafficking was conducted on 27th January 2020 in the school premises. Resource person Ms.
Gunjan Grover along with her team from “Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation” established
under the Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi apprised the teenagers with the intricate web
of causes including poverty, lack of education, and unsafe migration that propagate trafficking.
During the interactive workshop a documentary film highlighting relevance and use of ‘Track Child
Portal and Mukti Caravan Campaign’, was screened. Recounting their experiences, the team
concluded the workshop with a question answer session and urged the students to collaborate in
this Global March Against Child Labour.

The SNPS family gathered on 2nd February 2020 to
bid adieu to the outgoing Class XII batch 2019-20 at
the school premises. To celebrate their glorious
sojourn, an array of dance and live band
performances were held followed by sumptuous
lunch. The chief attraction was the ramp walk for the
most coveted titles- Mr. SNPS and Ms. SNPS 2019-
20, which was awarded to Manas Ratan and
Himani. Deepa and Aditya Rajput deservingly
bagged the title of ‘Best Dancers’. All the students
looked fabulous in sarees and tuxedos and winning
the mini beauty pageant as ‘Best Dressed’ were
Swati, Pranjal Garg and Yash Bhatt. The Virtuous
Principal Dr. Sarita Pande in an attempt to wish
them good luck for their future endeavors observed
a Tilak ceremony and the day was so planned as to
leave a trail of nostalgia amongst the staff and
students in bidding good bye.
A live Interactive Session was organized on 20th
January 2020, wherein our honorable Prime Minister
Mr. Narendra Modi, interacted with the school
students, especially of Board Classes. This was
basically an initiative – ‘Pareeksha Pe Charcha’,
wherein our honorable Prime Minister counselled the
students on how to deal with the examination stress,
peer pressure, recognition of inner potential etc. Under
the guidance and supervision of the Principal Dr.
Sarita Pande, arrangements were made in the
Computer Lab, for the students of classes X & XII
along with the teachers and parents, to view the live
broadcast.
The Prime Minister patiently comprehended the
queries and responded judiciously. He concluded with
a message that - ‘Examination is not life infact it is just
a destination to pass by. Trust in yourself – Tomorrow
will remain yours and with the same belief we must all
rise and grow.
PAREEKSHA PE CHARCHA
GIRLS’ HEALTH AND HYGIENE To make girls more informed, stronger and
confident to face the changes that occur
during adolescence, the school collaborated
with ‘Procter and Gamble’ and organized a
workshop on 13th February 2020 on ‘Girls
Health and Hygiene’. Spokesperson Ms.
Anchal Dhankar addressing the girls of
classes VI-VIII shed light on various
physiological and emotional changes that
occur during the process of menstruation. She
emphasized on good menstrual hygiene as it
is crucial for the health, education and dignity
of girls and women. While addressing through
demonstration she gave valuable tips on how
to use and dispose a sanitary pad. A short
documentary film was also screened, followed
by an interactive question answer session.
SPORTS DAY
“WINNING IS NOT EVERYTHING BUT MAKING THE EFFORT TO WIN IS.”
SNPS (Pre-School) celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 19th January 2020. The occasion was graced
by the chief guest, Mrs. Sushila Kelkar (District Coordinator, SPE Zone – 9 ). Mr. Sameer Khurana,
Chair Person, Venus Public School also marked his presence at the event. Entailing the torch
lightening and balloon releasing, the programme commenced with the ‘Simran’. The children
enthusiastically participated in different types of races and performed drill and aerobics highlighting the
importance of health and fitness. Along with the children, the teacher and the parents also actively
participated in the programme . The chief guest appreciated the role of every student, staff and the
parents who always give positive reinforcement.

To pay tribute to His Holiness Baba Hardev
Singh Ji Maharaj, on his Birth Anniversary and
to observe Guru Puja Diwas, a special morning
assembly was organized on 22nd February
2020. The assembly commenced with an
enlightening message on Babaji’s life and
preachings by the Principal – Dr. Sarita Pande.
Rendition of Holy Shabad by the students of
Pragati House was followed by Sangat Geet
sung by Mr. Varun (Accounts Deptt.). Ms.
Megha Malhotra (Hindi faculty), poetically,
threw light on the life journey of His Holiness.
An optimistic aura was spread by the students
of Prerna House through a wondrous skit,
depicting the role of NYS - Nirankari Youth
Symposium. In accordance with Babaji’s vision
‘Cleanliness Drive’ was also carried out in the
school premises and its vicinity.
NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK
“EVERY BRILLIANT EXPERIMENT STARTS WITH AN
ACT OF IMAGINATION”
‘National Science Week’, was observed from
22nd February to 28th February, 2020 in the
school premises to honour the role of Science
and Technology in the modern lives of
earthlings. A plethora of activities including
Magic Show, Science Quiz, Poem Recitation
and Speech were organized by the students
during the assembly under the guidance of
science teachers. Students from classes VI-VIII
were indulged and given an opportunity to
showcase their scientific skills during the week.
This exercise was to make sure that they
appreciate the gifts from nature and conserve
them. The activities were selected so as to
enhance the practice of understanding the
concepts of science in our day to day lives.
An Inter House Science Quiz Competition was
organized for the students of classes VI - VIII on
22nd February 2020, on account of the National
Science Week. The format of the quiz entailed
four rounds:
Round 1 : General Science Awareness
Round 2 : Visual Based
Round 3 : Rapid Fire
Round 4: Audience Based
The participants enthusiastically took part in all
the rounds and exuberated confidence as they
answered the questions posed to them. Preet
house bagged the 1st position, Pragati house
stood 2nd wherein Prerna house at 3rd position
followed by Prakash house at 4th position.
INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ
WORM FREE CHILDHOOD – WHEN THE RIGHT TIME COMES
To initiate ‘Worm Free Childhood’, implemented under the school health scheme ‘CHACHA NEHRU
SEHAT YOJNA’ led by Delhi’s Directorate of Health Services, the school, dispensed deworming
tablets to the entire school’s strength. Ranging from Pre-School to the Senior Secondary. The exercise
was religiously followed on 21st February 2020, under the supervision of nurse and other respective
teachers. A ‘Mop up Day’ was also followed to provide treatment to the students, who remained absent
on the Deworming Day, so as to ensure maximum coverage of the target population.

TIME COMES
Education is meant to create happy,
confident and content human beings, who
can in turn play a meaningful role in society
.In lieu of the same SNPS has streamlined
the curriculum in which happiness of
students has been given due weightage. To
achieve the goal of holistic development,
various happiness curriculum activities were
scheduled time to time in which students
participated joyously. On 28th February
2020 students learning and self awareness
through this Happiness Curriculum was
assessed in which students participated in
various activities in groups with their peers
and manifested their ideas and happiness.
WOKSHOP ON PRIMARY HEALTHCARE
To create an awareness on Primary Healthcare,
an informative workshop was organized by
CBSE, on 28th January 2020, at Sardar Patel
Vidyalaya. The eminent Resource Person Dr.
Moushumi Chatterji provided guidelines on –
‘How to Provide Primary Healthcare?’ and
‘Providing first aid under different situations.’ The
workshop was attended by Ms. Saniya Ali – the
Special Educator of the school.
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PRE – SCHOOL AND PRE – PRIMARY TEACHERS
An orientation programme was organized for Pre School and Pre – Primary teachers of all the Sant
Nirankari Public schools at SNPS, Nirankari Colony on 31 January 2020 . Mrs. Vijay Grover was
the resource person. The resource person suggested various activities like circle time, reciting poems
and conducting science experiments that a Pre – School teacher can conduct in the class room to
make learning more fun filled and to cater to all the three types of learners. She also laid emphasis
on the concept of ”Thematic Teaching” and “ Mind Map” through which a teacher can co-relate
one theme with all the other subjects. She also covered the various aspects needed to be followed
while preparing the “Lesson Plans” and also explained the assessment patterns with examples that
could be implemented and showed a few example of the same. Finally the resource person
concluded the workshop by assigning six themes (Water, Colours, Seasons, Transport, Myself and
My Family) to the six groups of teachers on which they were asked to prepare a lesson plan for one
week according to the given sample.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EI) WORKSHOP
A workshop on “Handling the Emotion Quotient Effectively” was conducted on 3rd March 2020, by
one of the representatives of Extramarks. Entire teaching staff, admin. staff along with the
Manager – Ms. Raman Singh Manhas, Principal – Dr. Sarita Pande and Vice Principal – Ms.
Ranjana Grover took active participation in the workshop. The resource person Ms. Sujata, an
eminent Psychologist aimed to reiterate why it is important to comprehend one’s own emotions
and those of others we interact with. She further emphasised on to with the agenda - Emotional
Intelligence and its role, Development of EQ, benefits of harnessing EQ and research on
Emotional Contagion. The traits such as – compassion, communication, responsibility, vision,
inspiration etc. of EQ were highlighted. Interactive group activities (Team Planning, Johari Window
and Behind the Back) were conducted to keep the workshop lively and informative. The workshop
culminated with thanks giving vote by the Manager - Ms. Raman Manhas.
WORKSHOP ON YAMUNA CLEANLINESS
State Council of Educational Research and Training
conducted a workshop to highlight the importance of public
participation in ‘Yamuna Cleanliness’. Various government
departments like Delhi Jal Board, Environment Department,
Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation
along with Directorate of Education and GNCT of Delhi joined
hands to express their concern on the problems plaguing the
river. Ms. Shashi Bala, Director, SCERT gave a welcome
speech and entailed the role of Eco Club and the students in
‘Yamuna Cleanliness’. She also emphasized that future of
this great nation lies in the hands of the children and a need
must be cultivated in them to clean the rivers so, various
sensitizing activities such as rallies, slogan writing, poster
making competition, drama, street play and visit to
Biodiversity park can be organized to spread awareness
among students, neighbours in vicinity and parents.

The 13th of March holds a significant meaning for Sant Nirankari Mission, as birthday of our Spiritual
Leader – Her Holiness Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, falls on the day. Mataji has been intensely and tirelessly
working for the inner spiritual evolution of the mankind. She has gifted us self-realization – the key to inner
transformation. The day began with positive and inspiring words by Ms. Sweety Dua (Hindi faculty), who
disseminated the message of Sant Nirankari Mission and emphasized on adoption of the same. This was
further followed by a Spiritual Gathering, resolved to follow the vision for youth.

Sports help in overall physical as well as mental development of the students. Participation in
school sports inbuilts a sense of team spirit, leadership, self-esteem, sense of belonging and self
confidence. As it is a great saying –‘VICTORY IS IN THE QUALITY OF THE COMPETITION, NOT
JUST THE FINAL SCORE.’ We here at SNPS along with laying emphasis on academics, stress
on sports being an integral part of our curriculum. With the positive mentoring the avid players of

Dealing with uncertainty and pandemic during the sudden announcement of lockdown did not impede
the spirits of school and faculty. During the course of COVID-19 lockdown, the academic results were
