Information on Sanitary work in port
The details of permanent employees are attached herewith as
Annexure I.
Reservation is 10% for SC, 9 % for ST and 27% for OBC
candidates.
Present status of reservation as on 01.11.2015 is SC-117, ST-11
&OBC- nil.
The work of cleaning and maintenance of 18 toilet blocks in
docks
and outlying areas under the jurisdiction of Management is
outsourced. The workers deployed for the work are employed by
the
Contractor.
All Safai Karmacharis are employees except few through the
outsourced contractor. These few workers are directly employed
by the
contractor.The Contractor has been directed to provide the
required details
failing which his contract will be terminated.
Welfare facilities are provided to Safai Karmacharis of as
applicable
to port employees.
No insanitary latrines exist in areas under the jurisdiction
of
Management.
No any worker died since 1993 as per available records.
Safety shoes, mouth pads and safety helmets.
