The ROCKET RACK® System was designed and patented by Ron Meyer, an IBEW Local One electrician working mainly in the food-processing industry. He was frustrated with the expensive and dangerous process of on-site rack fabrication.

“During one particularly fast-track project, I was fed up with the pipe-rack fabrication process. I’d been toying with the design for a prefabricated system – a pre-slotted rack with mounting holes at each end. A slot would allow for repositioning of the conduit, creating precise alignment of the entire run. A machinist friend was able to turn out a batch on short notice. We completed the job in record time; our customer was thrilled. My Project Manager suggested I apply for a patent.”

The company was formed shortly thereafter while Ron continued to work as an electrician. Julie Meyer, Ron’s wife, headed the operation from home. The first patents came in 2009 with the introduction of the original products, ROCKET RACK® Standard and ROCKET RACK® Flat. ROCKET RODTM – an all-thread rod with FDA-Certified PVC Coating was also part of the original lineup. Along the way a new product was designed – ROCKET RACK® TentedTM, with slot and mounting holes cut into the peak of the angle – resulting in a total of five patents.

Today ROCKET RACK® is used in food/beverage manufacturing facilities all over the U.S. Says Meyer, “Having been in the trade, working on the same kinds of projects that my customers are working, I know these guys need their materials fast. The ROCKET RACK® System provides a smooth, sanitary way to install conduit or process pipe. Its patented slot design eliminates harborage points because there are no recessed spaces or exposed threads. Using ROCKET RACK® results in perfectly-aligned pipe runs, which makes for a beautiful, clean and sleek installation. Its smooth, clean lines and buffed finish – along with radius corners – make it beautiful and elegant too, perfect for high-end residential or commercial installations.

ROCKET RACK® is infinitely reusable, as pipe and conduit can be placed anywhere along the slot. When re-tooling or re-configuring a plant layout, existing ROCKET RACK® racks can be disassembled and re-installed again and again, making it a sustainable component of your installation.

And, of course the safety aspects of a prefabricated system are immeasurable to the contractor. ROCKET RACK® saves time and money and meets all standards set forth in the 2016 Food Safety Modernization Act.

ROCKET RACK® Tented™ is used to support process pipe & electrical conduit or cable tray. Hygienic design features sloped sides (45°) to eliminate a horizontal ledge where dirt and bacteria can accumulate. Patented slot design allows for additional lines to be installed in the future and assures a perfectly straight run, creating a beautiful installation, even suitable for high-end residential or commercial buildings. Pipe & conduit are secured with U-Bolts or ROCKET STANDOFFS™ & approved sanitary clamps. Made from 2x2x1/4 Angle, ROCKET RACK® Tented™ is engineered to withstand heavy loads. ROCKET RODTM by ROCKET RACK®

ROCKET ROD™ – 304S or Zinc-plated all-thread rod with FDA-Certified PVC coating – is available in ¼" – ¾" diameters and 6’ & 12’ lengths. Its heat-shrink jacket is tight and snug, making it clean and smooth, with no exposed threads – perfect for food and beverage-grade installations.

The installer simply cuts the rod to length, uses a utility knife to strip away the amount of FDA-Certified coating to reveal precisely the threads needed, then mounts the rack. No on-site threading of rod saves time and substantially reduces the danger of product contamination, while increasing on-the-job safety.

ROCKET RACK® POST MOUNTS & MODIFIED TENTEDTM

ROCKET RACK® Post Mounts can be used to run conduit and process pipe vertically or horizontally using our ROCKET RACK® Flat or ROCKET RACK® Modified Tented™.

ROCKET RACK® Post Mounts, made from 2" Sch. 40 304S pipe, are sold individually. Post Mounts have a weld-sealed cap and mounting plate, (2" Sch. 40 304S Butt Welded Cap and 4x6x1/4 304S Mounting Plate with four 9/16" Mounting Holes). ROCKET RACK® Modified Tented™ is fabricated with the slot in the peak of the angle, but with no mounting holes. It is welded to a 2x4x3/8 plate with holes perfectly spaced for use with a 2" Stainless U-Bolt (sold separately) and milled with a radius that fits the curvature of the post.

Figure A.1 shows ROCKET RACK® Flat affixed to two ROCKET RACK® Post Mounts using Stainless U-Bolts creating a vertical mounting system. This system is a quick and versatile way to attach disconnects, operator interface panels or mechanical devices, such as water-flow meters and valves. This same system can be used to run conduit vertically.

Figure B.1 shows ROCKET RACK® Modified Tented™ affixed to ROCKET RACK® Post Mounts using Stainless U-Bolts. This system is used in instances requiring horizontal pipe runs along equipment where other mounting means are unavailable or unfeasible.
