Introduction of Organisation

Sangat Development Foundation (SDF) is community based non-governmental Organization, launched with its mission to work for the

democracy and womens empowerment especially in remote and

backward areas of Nawabshah district.SDF has taken a number of community-based capacity building andawareness initiatives, including seminars on different issues

confronting the downtrodden in remote and backward areas.

Sangat Development Foundation is member of District Advisoryand Coordination Committee (DCC), WWF-Indus for Allprogramme of Nawabshah District.

Sangat Development Foundation is member of InternationalHuman Rights Commission (IHRC).

SANGAT Development Foundation Nawabshah is a focalorganization on Water and Sanitation by FANSA-Pakistan(Fresh Water Action Network South Asia-Pakistan) for the

districts of Nawabshah and Naushoro Feroz, Sindh.

In order to make the local women aware and educate regarding the

importance of democracy and their possible role in strengthening thedemocracy in the country and also their effective participation in the

democratic process of Pakistan.

Sangat Development Foundation has launched an awareness campaignin rural villages of district Shaheed Benazir Abad (Nawabshah)regarding democracy and women's empowerment that local manand women got realized through holding community interact sessions

that the time requires that effective participation of women communityin the election process should be ensured for the strengthening of

democracy and also for their own development and prosperity.

Sangat Development Foundation believes in the womens

empowerment. Unless and until women especially of the rural areas

would not be made empowered in taking their own decisions regardingtheir future and development, we can not progress. One the one side,

our government is talking about the socio-economic development andon the other, majority of the population i.e. women has been made

hostage.

As for as the case of the rural womens empowerment is concerned, itis must that first to educate the man members of the society regarding

the rights of women, that what are the rights and status of women

allocated in the religion Islam and constitution of Pakistan? But aboveall we all should respect the women as human being and an important

segment of the society. However, without uplifting of womencommunity, we can not have a developed nation. Woman is the

institution where child has his/her teaching and psycho-moraldevelopment. It is therefore, it is sine quo non that women should bemade independent and empowered to make her all life decisions, astheir decision power could improve and give her strength in dealing

with daily life activities.

Of course, all qualities of mother would certainly be transferred to thechild. Which largely contribute in the building up of great nation in thecountry.

Sangat Development Foundation has decided to work closely with bothwomen and men segments of the society, for the empowering of the

women community, as they let to play their effective role in thedemocratic process of the country and also nation building.

As given the socio-cultural conditions of the rural society, it is first

important to educate the male members of the society on the

importance of the women's empowerment. If the woman would be

empowered, she could play constructive role in the family building upas well as societal development. Empowered woman could largely

share the family burden with man member of the family. Thisdefinitely would support in the addressing of all family development

problems.

Therefore, let us jointly work for the women's empowerment in a bidto develop a balanced society where women community should also

have equal dignity and respect as well as power to make her all lifedecisions independently.

The future destiny of a child is always the work of the mother.
