Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Tourism Expo is an annual Tourism Trade Fair organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. It showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products, and attracts international visitors and media from across the world. The Fair is the successor of Shanyai/Vakatshani, the Zimbabwe International Travel Expo (ZITE) that was held annually at the Harare International Conference Centre. ZITE started as a small expo in 1982 and grew over the years to become one of Africa’s leading tourism showcases by 2007. The past ten editions of Sanganai/ Hlanganani were a

resounding success and attracted the leading African destinations and major world tourism markets such as South Africa, Botswana, Malaysia, China, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Indonesia, India, Italy, Egypt, Ghana and many others. The editions have seen the whole world converging in Zimbabwe in the form of high calibre international buyers as well as exhibitors. The 2018 edition will be held in the country’s second largest city, Bulawayo, and is expected to ride on the successes gained by the previous editions and is an opportunity not to be missed.

DATES AND TIMES

Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Tourism Expo will run for three days starting on Thursday 06 September and ending on Saturday 08 September 2018. • 06 – 08 September are trade days • 08 September is a consumer day

Opening times are:• 0900 – 1700 hrs

The fair will be �lled with a lot of business and networking opportunities during exhibition hours and a lively social and cultural programme parallel to the exhibition and after hours, providing more opportunities to network.

ZIMBABWE - A World of Wonders

Zimbabwe is a wonderful, friendly and welcoming destination, situated on a high plateau in Southern Africa and lies between the Zambezi and the Limpopo rivers. such as its Wonderful People and Culture, Rich History and heritage, the Great Zimbabwe – the grand Medieval Palace, the Majestic Victoria Falls – Mosi-oa-Tunya, Pristine Wildlife and Nature, the Mystique of the Eastern Highlands and the Mythical Lake Kariba & the Mighty Zambezi. These wonders contribute immensely to the high degree of attractiveness that position the destination as a prime tourist and conferencing destination in the world. It is a landlocked country, bordered by Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa and Botswana. The climate is generally warm, with a daily sunshine average of seven hours all year round.

Zimbabwe is a plural society where people of di�erent races live in harmony. Zimbabweans living in urban areas have a westernized lifestyle, while in the country areas many African traditions have been preserved.

BULAWAYO - The City of Kings

Bulawayo candidly known as the “City of Kings” is the host city for the 2018 Sanganai – World Tourism Expo. Royalty awaits buyers and exhibitors in this second largest city of Zimbabwe. The city is rich in cultural history and is a must visit for anyone coming to Zimbabwe. Bulawayo city was originally the home of Lobengula, the last of the Matebele Kings. The city has a lot to o�er, either from within itself or around. It is located within the vicinity of Hwange National Park, The Victoria Falls(one of the wonders of the world), The Matobo Hills (where Cecil John Rhodes and as well as King Mzilikazi are buried)and the National Art Gallery in Bulawayo. Also among the attractions are the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Matobo National Park and the Khame Ruins.

Bulawayo is 440km away from Harare and equal distance to the mighty Victoria Falls by road. The City has direct air access from Harare, Victoria Falls and Johannesburg. It is only an hour’s �ight from Johannesburg and 30 minutes from Harare and the majestic Victoria Falls. The city has world class hotels and some of the �nest lodges in the region to cater for the di�erent needs of the participants.

Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC).

Situated within the city of Bulawayo, the Zimbabwe International Exhibition (ZIEC) Centre has world class facilities and is easily accessible from all areas of the city. ZIEC plays host to one of the internationally leading exhibitions such as the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), Mine Entra and many others.

The venue o�ers an extensive exhibition centre which encompasses a 17-hectare site situated close to the city’s central business district. Six specialised exhibition halls, hundreds of individual pavilions and open-air expo facilities are all fully serviced and equipped. The exhibition centre o�ers over 55 000 square metres indoor and outside exhibition space, adequate and secure parking for exhibitors and delegates. The Exhibition Centre layout is �exible enough to allow controlled or general access to any of the six exhibition halls and open-air sites.
