Hello parents, carers and friends of Sandy Beach Public School, Welcome back to all families who have returned to Sandy Beach for 2020 and a warm welcome to all new families and students. This week our Kindergarten students commenced school with excitement and most seemed ready for “big school”. I would also like to welcome new staff to our school, Mrs Athorn, Miss Abbott and Miss Freeman.

Meet the Teacher Stage groups are organising ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions which are being held over the first few

weeks of term. Keep an eye open for these invitations being sent home.

Book Packs To start up the school year with resources for each student we ask parents to pay an amount to cover supplies for the year. The amounts are; Kindergarten $25, Early Stage 1 $25, Stage 2 $27, Stage 3 $25. An invoice will be sent out today regarding this payment.

Student Leadership Induction Ceremony For our Student Council and Sports House Captains an induction ceremony will be held on Friday 14 February at 12:30 in the school hall. Swimming Carnival Our school swimming carnival is on Monday 17 February at Woolgoolga Pool. A note with further details will be sent out for students in Years 3 to 6. Voluntary School Contributions School Contributions are levied on the families of the school to enhance the opportunities available to the students. The level of contribution is determined each year after consultation with parent and staff representatives. The following contributions are recommended for this year. $30 for one child $50 for two children $75 for three or more children All families who have paid the voluntary contribution go in a draw for a family pass to Dolphin Marine Conservation Park which will be drawn on Friday 27 March. Hi everyone Our P&C meeting is on Monday 10 February at 7pm in the staffroom.. Our fete will be in September this year, please feel free to come join us & share some ideas for our Fete. Big news in our canteen. We are going online. As of Tuesday 11th February you will be able to use Flexischools website or app to place your child’s lunch orders online.
