Sandvik offers primary (CI100 series) and secon-dary (CI200 series) horizontal impact crushers forthe crushing of soft and medium hard materials.These crushers have a very high reduction ratio,which normally results in a three-stage crushingplant becoming a two-stage plant, using theSandvik HSI impact crusher range of crushers.The latest generation of compact horizontal im-pact crushers from Sandvik have been specificallydesigned to ensure rugged reliable operationcoupled with simple maintenance, interchangeablewear parts and fast part replacement.

Sandvik horizontal impactors provide lowcapital cost solutions, optimum performance andgood cubical shape, whilst ensuring the lowestoperating cost per tonne, for a wide range ofmaterials and applications.

ADVANCED DEVELOPMENTSandviks wealth of experience and leadingtechnology design have produced a modulardesign concept for the horizontal impactorcrusher range. A rugged steel outer fabricationensures long life, stability and easy mainte-nance. The wear liners are of unique modulardesign, ensuring minimal stock holding whilstensuring maximum wear parts utilization.

The all-welded frame is equipped with twoheavy curtains, each separately adjustable,mounted on a common pivoting shaft.

A unique, large diameter steel fabricatedrotor separates the primary and secondaryseries from other designs. It ensures maximuminertia and superior impact forces, resulting inoptimum reduction of material whilst main-taining cubical product shape.

A third pivoted curtain is another optionavailable on secondary units. This third curtainensures even greater reduction ratios, combinedwith cubical high rate production of finer frac-tion sizes.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

Sandvik impact crushers are the most ad-vanced line of impact crushers available at thispresent time. All liners can be interchanged tocompensate for areas of unequal wear rate,within the crusher. This results in maximumutilization of wear parts and further reducesoperating costs.

OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

Maximum crushing chamber accessibility isprovided by the low pivot point of the crushertop shell, giving smooth operation andsuperior clearance space between fixed andpivoting frames.

A self-locking frame tilt latch (with electricsafety cut-out) and easily accessible rotorlocking device mounted to the main crushersupport frame, ensures safe access to the inte-rior of the crusher. The hammers can easily bevertically removed (a great benefit in confinedspaces), using the special lifting tool and liftingbeam provided. Curtain adjustment and frameopening are made easy with the electricallyoperated hydraulic system, maximizing crusheravailability.

Unique Rotor andHammer Design

UNIQUE ROTOR DESIGN

The CI100 and CI200 series both have largediameter robust fabricated rotors. These rotors,with superior weight and diameter, deliver thehigh inertia required for optimum crushingperformance. Heavy duty rotor discs and back-ing bars (120 mm thick), ensure stability andsmooth operation during production. The massand integrity of the rotor are the most criticaldesign aspects of any impact crusher and arefound in all HSI crushers from Sandvik. Stablehammer supports and a high chrome steelalloy shaft further strengthen the unique rotorassembly.

UNIQUE HAMMER DESIGNThe unique banana shaped hammer designhelps to keep the contact heads sharper duringoperation. This unique hammer design is alsoself-sharpening throughout its life, resulting inmore effective shearing of the incoming mate-rial and hence improved production. Thehammers have a two-edge (two life) facility,again maximizing wear part life. Hammer lockwedges retain the hammers both vertically andhorizontally. Furthermore, they are quicklyand easily fitted and removed. The rear of thehammer locks easily along the whole length ofthe backing plate and hammer, giving solidabutment positioning and maintaining rigidityduring operation.
