Caritas animators spent up to two weeks registering beneficiaries in their respective zones, then lists were compiled and sent to CRS in Bangui

Hypothesis Results

• Barcodes saved time in registering beneficiaries,

• Barcodes save time in validating beneficiaries

• Barcodes reduce time needed in paying venders


Assumption Results

• Voucher more accurately and efficiently calculated

• Barcode and scanner system can be easily used and accepted

• Equipment was robust enough to continue to work effectively with limited maintenance


What to improve

• Be able to check data daily to correct for errors.• Picture when scanned for identification.• Develop upload/download mechanism such as a

hot spot so iPods can be synced immediately.• Either find a fix for the iPods when scanning

vouchers or purchase a couple of hand-held, wireless scanners from which the information then could be entered in the iPod.


How we addressing this issues

• DREAM Mini Server– Synchronize data between devices with

out internet connection– Access Reports with out need for internet

connection– Modify Forms offline


Next Steps

• Pilot a more complex project.• Include task as well as beneficiary.
