Art Immersion, France Saturday, May 30 – Saturday, June 27, 2020

The following itinerary is a suggestion as to the order of events.

Fri, May 29 Optional AIFS group flight departs San Francisco (SFO)

Sat, May 30 Optional AIFS group flight arrives Paris (CDG)

Private bus transfer into Paris for those selecting the group flight Independent travellers arrive Paris and make way to accommodation

Check into apartments, local area walk and remainder of day to rest and settle

Sun, May 31

AM Orientation with AIFS staff PM Sightseeing tour with local guide

Mon, June 1 AM Class with SMCCD faculty : Claude Lorraine and the Barbizon School PM Visit art store for supplies, then sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty EVE Welcome meal

Tues, June 2 AM Class with SMCCD faculty : continuation of the Barbizon School PM Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty

Wed, June 3 AM Guided tour of the Louvre with local Art Historian PM Time to continue exploring the Louvre independently

Thurs, June 4 Full-day excursion to Fontainebleue and Barbizon Entry to the Musée des Peintres de Barbizon and Chateau Fontainebleue Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty

Fri, June 5 AM Guided walking tour of the Montmartre neighbourhood PM Afternoon sketching and painting in Montmartre with faculty

Sat, June 6 Full-day excursion to Versailles for tour of the royal apartments and free time in the grounds

Mon, June 8 AM Class with SMCCD faculty: Impressionism PM Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty

Tues, June 9 AM Guided tour of the Musée d’Orsay PM Free time to explore the Musée d’Orsay

Wed, June 10 AM Musée de l’Orangerie PM Sketching and painting in the Tuileries Gardens

Thurs, June 11 AM Marmottan-Monet PM Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty

Fri, June 12 Full day excursion to Giverny by private bus Entry to the Fondation Claude Monet Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty

Sat, June 13 - Sun, June 14 Free weekend Suggested optional activities: Catacombs, Picasso Museum

Sat, June 20 Check out of Paris accommodation Transfer to train station and one-way, standard class train to Aix-en-Provence Transfer into Aix and check into apart-hotel Local area walk and remainder of day to settle

Sun, June 21 AM Walking tour of Aix-en-Provence with local guide PM Sketching and painting with SMCCD faculty
