With more than twenty years of experience, Daugherty brings with him an expansive career in philanthropy, donor relations and annual giving. Daugherty spent the past seven years as a senior fundraiser for the University of San Diego where he served as Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations at the USD School of Law. Daugherty and the Philanthropy team at San Diego Humane Society are responsible for raising the vital funds necessary to enable the organization to fulfill its mission to take care of homeless animals and ‘Inspire Compassion’ in our community. “This position with San Diego Humane Society is the perfect way to combine my professional experience in philanthropy with my passion and love for animals. Brian’s work experience includes notable organizations such as the Baltimore Symphony; the Baltimore Zoo; the University of Baltimore; the University of California, San Diego; and San Diego State University. He has served as the fundraising chair for several nonprofit organizations and is a frequent presenter to such organizations as the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Annual Giving Professionals Network (AGPN), and Academic Impressions.

Brian graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He also holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego. He currently lives in San Diego with his wife Kathleen, their three children and his devoted companion, “Barney the Bagle.”
