Chargers fans are in for a treat as the Bolts play one of the NFL’s most exciting and competitive schedules in 2014. Based upon their opponent’s win-loss record last season, the Chargers’ schedule is considered the fourth-toughest (tied) in the NFL. It’s highlighted by home games against the two teams who competed in Super Bowl XLVI, including the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks in the team’s home opener, and a total of five games against the teams that played in last year’s Championship Games.

Adding to the glamour and appeal of the schedule, the Chargers will play three games and possibly a fourth in prime-time, including a highly-anticipated late-season Sunday Night Football showdown against the New England Patriots right here in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium.

After opening the season in Arizona on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, the Chargers will return to San Diego for their home opener against the defending world champion Seahawks. It stands to be a highly-competitive afternoon as Richard Sherman and the Seahawks defense will attempt to slow the Bolts’ high-powered offense led by Philip Rivers. In turn, San Diego’s defense will fight back to lock down Russell Wilson and co. and the Seahawks high-flying offense.

A road game in Buffalo will serve as a lead-in to the Chargers’ first two-game homestand of the 2014 season. It features a visit from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 28, followed by a meeting with Rex Ryan and the New York Jets on Oct. 5. The Bolts have won their last two games against the Jaguars, including a 24-6 victory last season in Florida. The last time the Chargers and Jets took to the

skies in 2012, the Bolts prevailed, 27-17, in a game in which the Bolts racked up a team-record-tying 11 sacks.

The end of October features three straight games against foes from the AFC West. A pair of road games in Oakland (Oct. 12) and Denver (Oct. 23) are sandwiched against a home game against Kansas City on Oct. 19. An unforgettable 27-24 win over the Chiefs at Qualcomm Stadium last December was the win which sewed up the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC field for the Bolts last season.

Following a hard-hitting game in Baltimore, the Chargers’ December slate features four-straight games against 2013 playoff teams, including three straight against teams that played in the ’13 championship games. It starts at home with the team’s final two-game homestand featuring the two teams that played in last year’s AFC Championship Game. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots will be here on Dec. 7 as NBC’s Sunday Night Football makes its first visit to San Diego since 2011. Seven days later, Peyton Manning and the defending AFC Champion Broncos take the field at Qualcomm Stadium on Dec. 14.

The regular season concludes with games in San Francisco and Kansas City.

The Chargers’ schedule is packed full of excitement and drama, and we’re proud to have you with us every step of the way. Please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance at any time. Our goal is to ensure that your game experience is extraordinary.
