B efore exchanging vows Maria Kaminska and David Garcia
strolled along the Riverwalk to share a ldquofirst lookrdquo Their
photographer captured them embracing on a wooden
footbridge and meandering along stone pathways
Though the couple resides near the windswept plains of Kansas
100 of their closest family and friends celebrated their May 16th
nuptials along San Antoniorsquos picturesque waterway

ldquoWhen I was young I lived in San Antonio and it has always held
a special place in my heartrdquo Maria says ldquoThe people are so warm
and friendly and therersquos nothing like the Riverwalkrdquo
The Spanish ambiance of the Omni La Mansioacuten del Rio Hotel cap-
tivated the couple Their color scheme of soft pink cream and gold
was enhanced with a pop of orange flowers to reflect the cityrsquos

BUBBLY WISHES
For the ceremony floating candles glowing
in glass vases glowed as Monte Vista Strings
and Jazz performed the classic ldquoLa Vie en
Roserdquo The flower girls dressed in tulle bal-
lerina gowns and floral crowns while the
bridesmaids stepped out in petal pink Bill
Levkoff dresses and gold heels They carried
pastel pink and cream roses peonies and
freesia as well as orange ranunculus
Mariarsquos ballroom gown featured a bodice
of exquisite pearl and crystal beading and
delicate capped sleeves She joined David
in front of two glorious gold vases over-flowing with pink petals and soaring cherry
blossom branches
After the two tied the knot they walked
through a sea of tiny bubbles blown by
their elated spectators
CULTURAL MASHUP
As first-generation Americans Maria of
Polish descent and David of Mexican
share a deep appreciation for the United
States and wove their heritages throughoutthe reception Mariachis played for cocktail
hour as waiters passed chicken tostadas
and potato and cheese pierogis
In the opulently appointed ballroom the
bridersquos parents introduced the newlyweds

then transitioned into a hip-hop number
The song was followed by one of Davidrsquos
favorite Mexican tunes and a Polish
wedding classic
ldquoOur first dance got everyone pumped up for
the nightrdquo the groom says ldquoThere was one
point when not a single person was sittingrdquo
TALK OF THE TOWN
Gold vases displayed pink and cream
flowers and La Mansioacutenrsquos crystal chandeliers
mingled with soft pink uplighting to create
ambiance as butlers served the entreacutees
Fondant roses cascaded down the four-
tiered cake infused with Bavarian cream
raspberry and chocolate mousse fillings
Between jamming to throwback tunes and
other current favorites guests donned
props and struck zany poses in a photo
booth provided by DPC Event Services
Maria and David relied on their wedding
planner Tracy French of The French Con-
nection Events to seamlessly orchestrate
the dayrsquos events
ldquoWe didnrsquot worry about anything because
she and her staff worked their magic
behind the scenesrdquo the groom says ldquoShe
even arranged our honeymoon to an all-inclusive Mexican resortrdquo
Back home in Kansas people are still talking
about the couplersquos spectacular wedding
ldquoThey felt like they were on vacation and
there was a great energy all around usrdquo the
bride says ldquoIt was the best day of our lives
and the best wedding we ever attended
And it happened to be oursrdquo
