Response

Samuel is a thirteen year old boy living on the frontier of Pennsylvania in 1776. Samuel grew up in the woods while his parents were raised in eastern cities. He lives with his parents in a settlement of small cabins. But when war strikes Samuel’s home, the whole settlement is destroyed. He realizes his parents were captured and sets off to find them. Can his knowledge of the woods help him find his parents? Will he survive? Will he rescue his parents? Read Woods Runner to find out.

Since this took place during the Revolutionary War I did some research on that topic, here is what I found:

The Revolutionary War took place from 1775-1783 After 1778 the Revolutionary War became a World War between Britain

and France, Netherlands, Spain, and Mysore The war started because of what the Americans thought as unlawful

taxes made by the British Parliament. France, Spain, and the Dutch Republic had secretly been supplying the

American rebels with their needs such as ammunition and weapons In 1783 the Treaty of Paris ended the war and gave the Americans

independence The Treaty of Paris also gave the Americans the land with the boundaries

being Canada was the north boundary, Florida was the south one, and the Missisippi river was the west
