SAMSON DELIVERS LARGEST TRUCK UNLOADER EVER

SYNERGIES WITHIN THE AUMUND GROUP WIN ORDER BY BAOSTEEL

At the end of 2014 AUMUND, SCHADE and SAMSON were able to register substantial orders by Baosteel Europe, respectively by the umbrella organisation Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation. The AUMUND Group’s project managers from Rheinberg and Ely were actively supported by the team of AUMUND Beijing in winning these orders. The largest Truck Unloader ever For the final customer Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd in China, Baosteel Europe based in Hamburg ordered two

of the Largest Truck Unloaders BFOT, ever developed and constructed by SAMSON, up to now. The machines will be delivered to the final customer in China, where they will be employed in the stockyard for feeding the yard belts during the maintenance of the Stacker / Reclaimer systems and for stockpiling coal and iron ore. The mobile Truck Unloader is designed for continuous operations during the maintenance period and occasional usage for stockpiling.

The Truck Unloader has a capacity of 1,200 to 1,500 t/h iron ore. Weighing at around 80 tons the Truck Unloader is mounted on oversize tracks to spread the load and remain within the client’s ground pressure limitations. These units will create a stockpile height of 8 metres, fitted with a 15 metre radial boom. The design can be expanded to a 20 metre boom with stacking height to 15 metres or even beyond. Up to now the Truck Unloader is used by SAMSON’s customers from a wide variety of industries for stockpiling bulk material as well as for loading into railcars and barges. Developed from the original Stormajor® the new tracked Truck Unloaders, BFOT, are very flexible in operation and with diesel motor drive operate fully autonomous requiring no fixed infrastructure or power supplies. This was a major factor for Baosteel since the equipment may be operated anywhere in the stockyard depending on the area of the stockpile to be reclaimed whilst minimising the wheeled-loader transit time and therefore maximising productivity.

Two Semi Portal Scraper Reclaimer from SCHADE For the same plant, SCHADE sold two semi portal scraper reclaimer for iron or handing with a maximum reclaim capacity of 1,500 t/n and a rail span of 31.5 metres/ SCHADE is receiving orders from China continuously. Several Semi Portal Reclaimer were delivered and installed in the Baotou Steel Union plant in 2013. The plant is located in Baotou City (Inner Mongolia). Baotou Steel Union is a subsidiary of state owned Baotou Iron & Steel Group, the largest industrial enterprise of Inner Mongolia. The order volume for SCHADE encompassed six Semi Portal Reclaimer (rail track: 31.5 metres) with a maximum reclaim capacity of 1,650 t/h each. The entire installation and start of operation were under the direction of SCHADE.

AUMUND supplies eight Rotary Discharge Machines (RDM) The order package o the AUMUND Group is completed with an additional order by Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation to AUMUND: AUMUND delivers either rotary discharge machines (RDM) with a capacity of 1,300 t/h each including technical accessories until October 2015. The RDM’s are used for discharging coal from underneath the coal hoppers directly onto a belt conveyor from where the material is fed continuously to the coking plant. For more information on Samson
