transformation projects to deliver better citizen services. His was engaged in
transforming 6 cities as Smart Cities in Malaysia , Indonesia , Philippines
and Vietnam. He has indepth knowledge of city operations, Defense, Tax
,Social Services, water/electrical utilities, Transportation functioning. He
technical expertise not only includes information technology but also
operational control technologies like DCS, SCADA and Instrumentation .
Rapid Urbanization & Globalization is an unprecedented force
Estimated energy consumption by cities of the world today 75%
Estimated emission of greenhouse gases by cities of the world today 80%
Investment needed for infrastructure in developing countries by 2030
$41 triillion
Portion of water lost within cities due to infrastructure leaks
30%
Understanding Smarter Cities
Due to rapid urbanization infrastructure is not able to meet demand. Many cities have old and
aging infrastructure & replacement cost is high. Converting existing infrastructure to Smart
Infrastructure is key to making cities smarter as it impact every citizens day to day life….this is
rapidly emerging space which needs specialized companies and vendors with proven solution
and track record

Digital City OS : Wonderware System Platform: Value proposition
• Ability to integrate with IT applications
• Ability to integrated with Operational systems (SCADA, DCS) and sensors
Integration
• Cross functional workflow with the ability to communicate between people, device and systems
Active Workflow
• Ready mobile apps- Smart Glance, Work Task & Asset Maintenance
• Real time response to incidences Mobile Apps
• Ability to control through HMI apart from ability to monitor real time data
• Monitoring & controls of subsystems – future readiness
Control
• Historian" is in-built in City OS , which captures Real time Analog data & real time Boolean data (alert, events, operator's action)
Historian
• Ability to seamlessly integrate System platform , Workflow, Asset management along with mobile apps
Integrated IT Applications
• LORA , MQTT connectivity IOT
• Cities has many IT/OT systems supplied by various vendors. ability to connect is essential to develop smart application
Technology Excellence City Governance Functions
• City operations cut across many functions which are interconnected from citizen services to field operations like repair work, water connections , power outage, Emergency response etc
• Allows City operators to automate field operation SOP/process resulting in faster & intelligent response to alerts & incidences
• Smart City evaluation will be converging with IOT and edge analytics. In future it is expected that city operation platforms will participate in controls
• City operators will be able to monitor asset performance & historical trends of events, alerts pulse drive patterns for predications
• End to end incidence/alert management capabilities, which can automate field operations with integrated mobile apps with W/F & Asset Management
• As IOT technologies are emerging fast, Cites are investing in sensors with compliance with various standards & Protocols. LORA and MQTT supported platforms are essential.
